Ahw, sorry to hear that mate Maybe you can still make it for the Castle Combe, Zandvoort and Goodwood races though ? Multiple races there so the latter ones at each meeting will start at around the same time as they did until the daylight saving time change ? If so you would need a car from either the 3000 or +3000 classes as those will close the programme at these events

Those races would be more possible, will keep an eye out.
With Europe starting DST then ours ending a week or two after, the session start goes from 6am to 4am.
As much as I love these cars, not sure I can manage that. Don't know how Rhys does it.
The 56 season will be back at a better time, so 100% back for that.

Yeah 4am is tough indeed... Did it myself a few times back in the day racing in US NR2003 GTP races - at that point I just didn't go to bed rather than wake up early ^^
Anyways, hope we'll see you when possible in some 1954 and 1955 races, before having you back full time for 1956 ones
Should I free your #38 Porsche ? You can keep it if you want, or pick another car too

Yeah free the seat up on #38.
I don't want to take up a space someone can use, particularly when we could use more 1500cc runners.

Happy to stick with the Lancia, but, as Robin, I am eyeing a works Ferrari drive if one frees up. Maybe someone in that stable fancies a swap?

Bayer denies rumors of signing with Gordini
Recently, the expected sports car champion Martin Bayer was seen testing with the Gordini factory team. This fueled the rumor mill and it was expected that the announcement of a factory contract was imminent in the very near future. However, Martin Bayer himself has now clearly rejected the rumors:
"Yes, it is true that I am in close contact with Gordini and that I have tested their 3 liter model, because with the expected reinforcement of the Mercedes-Benz team, I want to test all the possibilities to preserve my chances of victory in the new year. However, I am not yet fully convinced by the handling of the new car." He said that since the 1954 season calendar included mainly very technical tracks, the decision was made to start with last year's car, which he owns himself. He had turned down a generous offer from Gordini, he said, because he wanted to use his second car, a Maserati in the 2-liter class, in events with several races as well. This should further enhance the chances of defending the title.
"I am confident that this decision can lead to some surprises next year as well." He said he remains in close communication with Gordini to incorporate his experience into the further development of the factory cars. In return, he said, Gordini has promised him support with spare parts that is equal to the factory cars. "Possibly the boundary conditions will be a little better next year - I thank Gordini very much for the trust they have placed in me as a privateer entry and hope that the cooperation continues to bear fruit." It still remains unclear with which lineup Equipe Gordini factory team will face its competitors next season.

Hillebrand Signs For Gordini
After yet another brake failure put Hillebrand out of the Coppa Inter-Europa in its closing stages, the German was seen running to the David Brown Automotive truck, loudly proclaiming his separation from the team. After a shock win at Bremgarten, hopes had turned up for the team to further be able to challenge for top positions, and through most of the race in Italy it seemed like it, but the renewed lack of reliability of the British car seemed to be the last straw.
Not even 2 hours passed since the end of the race when the German was seen shaking hands with Amédée Gordini before publicly announcing his switch into the 3 Liter Class. "I am happy to announce my switch to Equipe Gordini to pilot the #21 entry next year. Amédée came to me two days before the race and offered me a seat. The 3 Liter straight 8 engine packs quite a punch and the car seems to be a lot more reliable than this #### of #### that is still half stuck in the barrier at Lesmo 1, so I am quite interested to see what we will be able to do with this!"

You have one week left to change cars. After that only drivers without a ride will be able to book a car for the 1954 series of races.
Following the Monza race the following cars are now free, their drivers having missed three races in a row :
