2023 Gold Star - Entry List [1953 series]

Car Booking Rules

This is how the booking process will work for the 1953 Gold Star series.

- Booking will open on Friday, December 23 at 8pm CET.

- Cars will be attributed on a "first come first served" basis, i.e. in chronological order of posts in the present thread.

- To book a car, simply post your choice in this thread.

- Please do not edit your posts (not even for spelling errors). If you realise somebody just pipped you for a car, make a new post. We cannot constantly go back to check old posts to see if anyone changed their mind, and it also obviously interferes with the chronological order aspect of things. Every edited posts will be ignored.

- Goes without saying that every post by someone using a nickname will be ignored as well.

- A driver can book a car for drivers unable to post at the time booking opens. However absentee drivers must have a valid HSO forum account (i.e. real names only, nicknames not allowed) for this to be validated by the admins - you cannot book a car for someone who is not a registered HSO member.

- Also, any one driver can only book cars on behalf of two other drivers maximum.

- Car booking is valid for the 1953 Gold Star series of races only. After the completion of the 1953 series, drivers will be allowed to change cars for the 1954 one, using a method that will be detailed when the time comes.

- Should the number of drivers interested in participating exceed the number of cars available (63), a waiting list will be implemented.

- Drivers will be placed on the waiting list in chronological order of posts in the present thread. The first driver on the waiting list will be first in line to grab a car that would have been freed by its titular driver either because said titular voluntarily dropped out or because he would have lost his ride due to the rule stating :

- A driver missing three races in a row will lose his entry which would then be made available for someone else to drive.

- If the first driver in the waiting list does not wish to inherit the available car, it will be offered to the second driver in line, and so on until the car finds a new driver.

- The present thread is "locked" (no posts allowed) and will be unlocked Friday evening when booking starts. In the meantime if you have any questions regarding the booking rules feel free to ask in the Gold Star Rules thread.

Hey drivers !

As per HSO tradition, a few people without whom the series could not have been held have been granted early booking privileges. The only way we can show our gratitude towards them for all their help and support is to at least make sure they get the car they want for the series they helped create.

It’s something we’ve always done at HSO in the case of “first come, first served” booking systems, so we hope our newer members will understand the spirit behind it all.

Also note that the three concerned drivers have picked an entry from a 3-car team, not like if they had taken the only Lagonda or anything   !

Hopefully everybody will still get the car they want in the end, but we still wanted to give you all a heads up for the sake of trasparency towards newcomers, and so that those who were thinking of maybe taking one of the three entries affected by this could adjust their choice accordingly before booking opens.
