Boyz,

with Mikes help I managet to get under 46', but Im practicly running flatout, and I dont know where and how to get another half, or whole second? Ok, I see, there is some space in entering turns, I need a few more hundred laps to make it as best as possible, but I doubt I could find more than a few tenth of a sec... if even that much... Could it be its that 50BHP less I have in my ME163 causing that gap?

Definitely the lack of power. I'm doing 47,4-5's, but still have to feather the throttle in all corners. Lack of power->have to take downforce off->all around disadvantage. That you are able to run flatout sounds like you are running with way too much downforce to me.

Yes, those 50 HP are worth around 0.5 to 0.75 (Depending on the car) here because this is a big superspeedway where power matters. But in the race the difference will be very small.

Well, it's on the edge.. with lower df Im loosing too much in corners, and not gaining more than 1mph on the straight ends.

Nice to see you come to HSO Oyvind, I've seen and raced you at other sites Smile

As for the mods, they can always be found in the different rules threads for the series, ( http://historicsimracing.123.st/t3112-1973-usac-national-championship-rules ) in this case.

There is also a patch thread which I think changes the tires and maybe something else, will have to check with Alberto for that one...

The circuit you can find in the different event threads to check out the opening post of this thread Smile

Not a good idea to be a Komet. Better be a Schwalbe or a Blitz. Much much more safer as the engine isn't a mix of very corosive products

Also get the same problem that Jacob encounters. To be fast I've to get low wing. But the car become then very touchy in every corner. Interessing equation for a good driver I suppose. But as I'm not one of them I'll have to do what I can. Qualifications will be very demanding

Yes, qualifications will be right on the edge.

Race and qualy setup differ much more on ovals than on road courses. For oval qualy you will want a tad of oversteer, which you would never want on a race setup. Also, oval setups get closer to perfection than road course ones because you only deal with similar corners, but for qualy you even almost completely factor out the change in fuel load, as you use only a few gallons. So you have an absolutely dedicated setup that is good only for four laps under those conditions What a Face

I wanted to join in, but no matter which car I try, the brakes squeal very loud all the time.
Something is not right.
Does anyone know why this is happening or better yet, how to fix it?

I'm running V1.0b

The brakes squeal even when car is stopped???
No other car mod I run does this so I don't know...

Could it be a shared brake sound from another mod you have?

I don't know which "other" sounds this Mod uses or shares.
I looked at what was installed, but none of those sounds are brakes.
There are no .sfx files so I don't know how to correct this and I can usually fix anything.

sfx files should be in GameData\Vehicles\1973USAC

Ok I fixed it.
I removed TMTires folder, now it works
without brake squealing. cheers

I'll let you know soon which car I'd like.

Also, you should be using V1.1b NOT 1.0b

I've got this one doing pretty good so far.
I did consistent 47.8's last night with it.
I'm positive I can get it faster too.
