| Hello Scott, glad to see you around. Please note that the rules say: - Quote :
- Car selection is free. However, admins can refuse a car to a given driver if they are judged too fast for it or if their simracing level is unknown.
This being your case, you should ask for other cars as 2nd option before they go away. You haven't raced with us yet, so we don't know your racing level, but most likely you would be eligible at least for an Eagle 72 Offenhauser, which in good hands has a realistic shot at victory. Jason White has the last word on that. See you

| Two questions for those who know the physics of this mod:
1) Is it true, as suggested above that all 72 Eagle/Offy cars perform equally? In other words, is it reasonable to expect equal laps times from all 72 Eagle/Offys given equally capable drivers or the same driver? And, do they have the same fuel consumption?
2) Relative to the 2015 race, are the 2016 cars faster, slower or the same here at Indy given, I believe, that some physics changes were made to cars this year.

| The Eagle 72 Offys with red numbers in the one off list and series entry list are capable of 1000 bhp in qualy. | |

| I'll elaborate a bit more so that everyone is more aware of the differences 1) There is a small difference between Firestone and Goodyear, but it will not affect the qualy (Too few laps to be noticeable). All Eagle 72 with the same Offy engine will thus perform the same in qualy. There are three variants of the Offy in the mod: Low power: Up to 900 HP Medium power: Up to 950 HP High power: Up to 1000 HP (Highlighted in red) This represents both the ability of the mechanics in the top teams to extract the most of the engine and the fact that the less well funded teams could not risk blowing engines with higher boost pressures. All Eagle 72 Offenhauser cars are equipped at least with the medium power variant, and some (Patrick, Penske) with the high power one. I took it for granted that those with enough funding to buy an Eagle from Gurney also had enough money to put a decent engine on it, so there is no Eagle 72 with the low power Offenhauser around. You will find that low power engine only in the outdated or low budget cars like the Atlanta, Eagle 68 and 70, Finley, Vollstedt, etc. The power difference is not huge in race trim, (25 HP at the same boost level) but it reaches 50 HP in qualy boost. The fuel consumption is nominally the same at the same boost level, but in truth the lower the power of the engine the less fuel it will use because it won't reach as many rpm. You can expect at least 1-3 laps more per tank from a mid-power Offy than what you would get from a high power one. 2) All cars are a bit slower now this year. | |

This only works if you give up your full-time series ride (the #59 Eagle 70). Is that what you want to do?

Hey speedy. Your request is being considered. Stand by. Feel free to practice with the car for now. Nobody can book it until the admins decide.

| To qualify for that one I'll need to break the rule of "Three If" If I do a perfect qualifications session If two drivers missed theirs If two drivers missed the start Then I could hope the last spot (or the 32th). I've difficulties to push my Chevy Eagle as fast as I needed. I'm stuck to a slow 48.xx. The car is very stable though (but perfectible. I used a mix of my set from Trenton and Texas). I'm just having a small lack of horsepower (nothing unusual with the Chevy in fact) Well I leave you then as I've to say a prayer and/or a sacrifice to any god good or evil knowned on Earth to help me a bit. that's make a lot of them More seriously anyone has a tip of how to set the car a bit better? | |
