| Yeah Jon the 635 sounds beautiful, looks classic, and goes better, but whenever somebody driving one leaves the server, it tends to boot everyone else off -- highly irritating!
Good question about the Sierras though, seems like only 5 raced on the day?

Not to be picky - but if you look on the wiki - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1987_Wellington_500 The actual line up is totally different to this race's lineup. 5 RS500s, and 10 BMWs... Compared to our lineup. Toyota Corolla and Sprinter are available on the mod, and were in the actual race too.
It was the same at Bathurst - the Volvo did not run in the real life event.
If this was a league I would say it makes sense to stick to a certain line up of cars, but if these are one off events, why not try to be as real to the actual event as possible? What I did is I made a common field for both Bathurst and Wellington races, based on the real life fields and what was available in the mod. As Ben T said the BMW 635 CSi is bugged online. The ALFA 33 is not in the mod so I kept the Colin Bond 75T which was in Bathurst. The Volvos ran in Wellington only in real life but I kept them for Bathurst as well which made up for the models we do not have in the mod (some local Stangs and Holdens, BMW 325i and 635). As for the 1,600cc cars we elected not to use them in our all 1987 Antipodean season since it would have been unwise to spread the limited field we could gather over such three different classes - two was enough . - Jon Hicken wrote:

You're not being rude, you're being thorough which is kewl !

| Way it was in real life, Sierra's came in and dominated, Believe if it wasn't for Ravaglia in this race the Egenberger sierra's would have dominated, they did at Bathurst. The other over 2500c cars stood little or no chance till they brought out new models. I know what your getting at, But I like having them there, Makes it a challenge! This one of the few tracks the slower cars may challenge. Like I said Ravaglia Qualified 3rd I think. Maybe if we do another TCL we could the BTCC from 89 as all the sierra's are in a class of their own.

But a BMW won the championship that year... Was in a different class, so wasn't directly competing against the Sierra's So they won there races, and I was referring to the other cars in the sierra's class. Like in BTCC in 80,s little Toyota's from bottom class were winning title as they were winning their races more often than a Sierra or M3 was in there respective classes

It was not exactly the same situation as the BTCC. In the WTCC there was a double round of points for both overall and class standings. In the BTCC only the class standings gave points. So there was no chance a 1.6-litre class car like the Toyota Corollas could win the WTCC as you had to be a contender o/a to challenge for the championship. Also the 1987 WTCC was somewhat of a joke as a championship points-race, and as it ended up a very close one at that Ravaglia's title doesn't mean much indeed. Only selected cars were eligible for points : the entries which were comitted to enter all the races and which had posted a $zillion bound to the FIA - which amounted to only 15 cars, of which 7 (3 Sierras, 4 M3s) were truly competitive. Some races like Spa or the TT were won by cars who did not score for the WTCC. Also there were more protests and disqualifications than any FIA Championship ever or since I think, which influenced greatly the championship race. Having said that I agree that the mod (which still is my favourite rF mod overall) has a few weaknesses regarding the overall performances of the cars between them compared to the real-life situation. One of the main differences is in the tyre department I think, as the raging tyre war which characterised Group A racing is not at all represented in the mod. Tyres had a great influence on the outcome of most of the WTCC races.
