La Manzana Hillclimb 1987

TCL 1987 - La Manzana Hillclimb [December 5th] LaManzana

Following the good running of the Mont-Ventoux hillclimb a few weeks ago, we’ll try another hillclimbing venture with Group A touring cars of the great TCL mod. Due to the lack of available tracks, a full hillclimbing championship sadly won’t happen in 2011, but we hope instead to make mountain racing a regular feature of our Open Events next year.

After the wide spaces and high speeds of the Ventoux hills, we now travel to the narrower roads of Asturias in Spain. While relatively short, the Manzana layout is a breathtaking piece of road, the perfect playground for a 1980s touring car. From the bumpy steep uphill beginning to the Nürburgring-like downhill flowing section in the end, it gathers all the difficulties of a classic track over just 3.5 kms.

=> DOWNLOAD TCL <=
You will also need the mod's soundpack : => DOWNLOAD SOUND PACK <=
We will be using the Manzana track by RMB Racetec and SISCO : => DOWNLOAD TRACK <=

Schedule

Sunday December 5th

8:00pm : Warm-up
8:50pm : Drivers’ briefing
9:00pm : Race Start – 45 minutes, 3 attempts maximum per driver.

Server Password : hso87

A training server will be running 24/24 with the same password.
=> HOTLAPS <=

Rules

We will try a different format for the evening from the Ventoux event. Each driver is limited to one car, but he will do three timed runs with it. “Three timed runs” means three attempts, not three completions.

The race will be run as a private qualifying session of 45 minutes. Each driver is free to do his 3 attempts whenever he wants inside this 45 minutes bracket. He also is free to only do two runs.

The final standings will be established on the aggregate time of the best two runs of each driver.

As with all our hillclimb events, chatting on the server during the race will be allowed. This will make for a friendly evening so feel free to comment the others' runs and the evolution of the standings while you are not on track. Of course we will ask you to keep the chat focused on the race only, thanks.
Those who do not want to have the chat on their screen during their run can switch off the in-car chat by modifying the following line in the multiplayer.ini file located in your player's folder : Allow Chat In Car="0" .

As it is impossible to enforce that nobody uses unfairly the few metres between the pit stall and the starting line, starts will be given directly from pit stall. The starting position therefore is the same for everybody. It is stricktly forbidden to go backwards from the initial starting position to warm up your tires and/or gain some momentum by starting further away from the starting line. Those breaking this rule will be immediately banned from the race server.

Also remember to switch off the pit speed limiter before you start your run :D !

Available Cars

Car choice is restricted to "Class 2" cars from the 1987 carset of the mod. All available upgrades are allowed. Due to the limited number of available cars for some models, it will be allowed to have more than one driver booking the same car.

Pour moi ce sera : Alfa Romeo WTCC #79. Merci. Wink

Le choix entre l'Alfa et la Mercedes a été difficile. J'espère que je ne vais pas le regretter. Neutral :D

PS : merci Frank de nous proposer une nouvelle course de ce genre. C'était trrop sympa la dernière fois. Very Happy

Embarassed Laughing
