Grats to all the finishers

I had a good car for today's race and managed to finish 7th.
I had a good start from 11th and passed two or three cars in front of me, had a good battle with Mario in the first laps, but he managed to pull away in the fast section of the track.
On lap 9 i spun twice and lost 15 seconds to Mario.
For the rest of the race i kept my car on the track, gaining confidence every lap, but the gap between my car and the ones in front of me was enormous in the fast section (more than 2 seconds per lap) , while in the stadium i could match their laptimes without problems,i finished 1 lap down.

See you at Interlagos, hoping for a better car.

It's not really the final result that makes me mad, it's the fact that I'm not being able to drive like last year, where I was feeling comfortable wiht myself, the car and the setup. This is year, something's going terribly wrong.

You didn't get in my way one single time. I was in your way, because I knew I was slower Wink.

Ok, maybe it's a quick decision but I don't really think it's going to be any different in 3 weeks from now, but we'll see.

I'm really happy you finished in the points :top:

Congrats to Pierre for the win :champ:
and ,Frank V and Frank L for the podium ..... :drink:

Some great driving tonight
Sorry Gui if i held you up my Ligier Team orders where
to hold the Arrows Train up for as long as possible ....

Im more than pleased with my 5th place and my first ever F179 points
i had a couple of scary moments one was when Oliver spun in his ferrari
infront of me ,and then i accidently put my car into 1st just as Pierre was lapping me
and i spun right infront of him ...Luckily for me i had enough gap between me and Mario
so i never lost a place .....

A Couple of times i had real bad fps issues and i had to slow right down for fear of crashing
i think i forgot to turn replay off so hopefully this will be ok for the next race ...

I Think it really helped me having done the WSC70 here last year,
should be interesting on other tracks that i dont no so well ....

THX HSO Brilliant race :flag:

It was a pretty "unexiting" race for me, with no incidents or troubles. I knew from the beginning, that i was not competitive, because i had nearly no time to practice. So my aim was to finish and see what happens. I took a setup which was designed for the long straights with low wings. So i was pretty slow in the second part of the track, but very fast in the first half. At the beginning, i was a little bit astonished because i was 12th in the grid. And there were some drivers behind me which took part at the qualifyings. so, there must have been a problem. After the start, i gained two positions and was behind Carlo, but it was no problem to overtake him and his ATS with my alfa rocket on the first long straight. in the first laps, i tried to find a rythm. then, i just drove and saw the checkered flag at the end in 6th position. i didn`t expect to get a point in this race, so i am very happy with the result!

Congratulations to Pierre (what a great speed!), the podium, all the finishers and especially also to Carlo, who was damn fast in his ATS (big respect for that!).

I am sorry about this, I have to check replay because in the race I didn´t think that I have some major hit...I was trying to hold my line and I was slower because of that...

=================
A good race to open the season Smile
First lap was a bit hot as I outbraked myself at the chicane, fortunatly Pierre managed to give me some room, otherwise this could have been more serious. In lap 2 I did the same mistake at the chicane and had to cut in the grass to avoid Franck. Got back on track behind Carl & Tiago (who kindly let me pass).
After a good 3 laps scrap with Carl, I tried to catch the leading group, but everybody had the same pace so it was hard to gain time. I won a spot when Franck L. went in the grass at the chicane but did the same later. While chasing Franck, I spun in a fast curve and lost my podium hopes. So I decided to take it easy and pit for fresh tires to finish the race, allowing me to take the fastest lap.

Grats to Pierre for his race, to Franky for finishing 2nd and not to far behind the winner, to all finishers and backmarkers, always very clean Wink

cheers What a great start to the season ! I'm delighted with my second place, I knew Pierre had quite a margin, so I settled for second, being careful not to do any mistake and hoping for one on Pierre's side. I did not do any but neither did Pierre so there was no way I could beat him really. Grats to Pierre for a flawless run :top: !

His start was a bit messy tho :aie: , and as I was right behind him on the grid I got a bit stuck and Gui and Martin were able to pass. The first couple of laps were intense with the six of us (with Carl) running in close company. Finally it all settled down with Pierre ahead, me and Martin fighting it a few seconds behind with Franck on our tail, while Gui elected for some gardening Razz . The 10 laps with Martin were great, everyone having had Martin on his back during a race knows how hard it is to keep him behind, even if his car is 2 seconds per lap slower. Good fun though, we passed each other several times, but in the end I think I had the edge thanks to the superb handling of the Ligier in the fast bends. Too bad Martin crashed out though, even if that was a bit of a relief Very Happy !

Later on Franck, who had replaced Martin in harassing me, also spun and I was from then on a comfortable second. I stuck to my pre-race plan : half the race in the 1mn47s bracket, the second half in the 1mn46s one, and all went well. I could feel Pierre had a margin so I tried not to overdrive to catch him which was pointless I think.

Grats to all finishers ! Well done Carl with 5th place, gotta love the inside move on Gui at the first chicane early on cheers !! Thanks to all lapped cars, all just perfect gentlemen ! Good job too Mario and Carlo, I'm not particularly eager to see Carlo on a faster car this year Very Happy !

Looking forward to Interlagos, my favourite track on the 79 calendar :jp: !
:frank:

That's because François was supposed to be 12th but as he wasn't there, rFactor filled this spot with a driver without qualifying time, you.

Was wondering too why I was 13th on the grid with Francois missing.
Well doesn't change anything as i've got again my start bug issue. Don't understand why the formation lap get me that bug with the 79 and not the procar

Was hoping to do something in 79 this year. won't be the case. Yesterday I've got all the problems I could encountered in ten seconds of race. Start bug pulling me at the back 5-6 seconds after the start, motor failure (and they said the McLaren to be reliable) then, just before stopping the car, the famous (at least for me) "connection lost" message. 79ers are cursed on me as it seems. I'm not sure I'll be there at Interlagos and thereafter also. If I don't find a solution to thoes problems my McLaren wheel will be free by Kyalami as I'm having no fun at all to ride those cars
