Yes we are quicker, but we don't suffer the real life limitation of 80 inches of boost. For 1974 USAC had a stupid rule -implemented after the previous year's Indy catastrophic accident- where you had limited boost for qualy but NOT for the race. So the cars had much less power in qualifying and therefore pole speed was not representative of what they could do. For the race, it was the total fuel allowed what dictated the maximum boost the teams could put on the engines, so for 500 mile races they were also normally quite detuned.

In rfactor we can't reproduce all those limitations, so a compromise was reached. You are quicker in qualy but race lap speeds will be much closer, though I should probably have made the engines a bit thirstier to make things more interesting

I feel like I want to run #53 even though I might end up being a mobile chicane. Happy with #5 also if admins think that would be more sensible.

The league was started by four french racing legends coming from the GPL scene and indeed at the beginning most users were french/belgian coming from local leagues (See here the historic GPL francophone leagues archive), but HSO always was intended to be absolutely international (All website and forum was in english already from the start) and very soon people from everywhere started joining. Today french/belgian racers are proportionally way less than they used to be at the start, but we still have with us many who have been here for the long run and are some of the most solid racers and best people to be around. Yves Plaçais, Philippe Martinelli, Gerard Ryon, Timo Vermeersch, Greg "Hunt" Goissen, and many others still keep the flag high for France and Belgium
