this whole video is cool, but at 33:18 they are showing the "open wheel" category, and not sure the exact year, but they put huge wings on a indycar chassis to go up pikes peak! i know now that its paved this kinda thing is the norm, never knew they did it on the dirt (it didnt work the greatest).

A Lot of the exaggerations aside, it is a really cool story on it's own merits. The Embellishments added over the years are just that. And as someone( ) in the comments pointed out...The Indy story is not true at all.

What about winning the Le Mans was that true? And did they really just pay everyone off like that? And what about the lap at Daytona with nitrous was that true? I have really no idea, I just find it really interesting. So many questions lol

Oh yeah, most of it is true, but the buying Road Atlanta just so they could land planes there is a bit of a stretch.
Don Whitington doesn't deny using the Back stretch as a runway, as he states he landed is Bearcat there many times. But as he points out, while the backstraight is long enough to land a decent sized plane there, the obstacle clearance isn't there. There are power lines and other stuff on both approach paths, so the actual usable length is very short.
Randy Lanier has said, while they did store Pot around the track they weren't flying it in, they could truck it in using Hauler's and it was way easier and less suspicious. He also states the reason they bought Road Atlanta was two-fold, #1, they had the cash and needed to get rid of it, and #2 It gave them there own personal and private place to test.
Nitrous at Daytona was being done by everyone including, as mentioned in the video the Interscope team.

Lovely stuff, it shows that racing cars don't have to have hundreds of horsepower.

It's funny how motorsport.tv just shows a highlight video of the 1982 Le Mans 24 Hours

LOL, Believe me, if I knew what the hell I was doing and could actually mod, I'd probably have mods released for 1970 through to 1990 of IndyCars.
