Event Schedule (all times given are CET) Thursday April 27th21h00 - Qualifying Session #1 (1 hour) Saturday April 29th21h00 - Qualifying Session #2 (1 hour) Sunday April 30th16h00 - Warm-up 16h45 - Driver's briefing 17h00 - Race Start (48 laps) 30%: 14 laps 70%: 34 laps Server Name : Historic Simracing WEC 82 Server IP : 91.121.135.76: 34600Server Password : hso82HSO Teamspeak 3 server Start ProcedureRace will feature a rolling start. Once everybody is on the grid and green lights have been shown, drivers will leave the grid at low speed. Do not overtake, stay packed, no more than 2 or 3 car lengths between each car. Cars will keep rolling at reduced speed in the starting grid formation, so remember your side of the grid. When the leading cars are on the "straight" between the Flugplatz and Aremberg, an admin will give the real start of the race by typing "GREEN FLAG" in chat. Overtake before crossing the start/finish line is not allowed.Zigzaging to warm up your tires is not allowed. Before the green flag, drivers should maintain a staggered formation, and not stay along side each others. Behaviour on track- as for all HSO races, it is required you use your real name both in-game and on the forum. Thank you. - Chatting is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN in race session. It is allowed in qualifying sessions for technical issues only. - Drive Through : If a driver has to do a drive through, even if there is no pit lane speed limit, he has to drive through the pitlane at 100km/h max (60mph). If he doesn't respect this, he will get a 30s penalty at the end of the race. - Shortcuts : If a driver gains a position after shortcutting a turn, he is required to give it back as soon as possible. In the case where a driver would not do it rapidly, a 30-second penalty will be added to his total race time. In the event of abusive and intentional shortcutting, severe sanctions will be applied (up to definitive a ban from the league). To make sure you never shortcut a turn, try to always keep two wheels on the track. - Respect the red light at the end of the pitlane. | Oh look, both Porsche taken five minutes after the selection opened and while some people are still not home to check! Great!... And also good to know that the selection opens in the middle of the week. Thought they would open on Sundays. I'll take the #22 BMW then...

Hopefully our race will be more competitive than the real one ! This was not the best field of the year in the series and many of the new cars had a hard time coping with the Nordschleife's demands hence the high attrition rate. I mean an Opel Ascona 400 was 8th o/a !

Thank god they did not include all the Group 2 touring cars that often participated at the Ring ! VW Scirocco Opel Kadett Another crazy race that year was the non-championship Kyalami 9 Hours in November. Pretty much one of the last great Formule Libre races ever, with a field comprising anything from works Porsche 956s (pole-position in 1mn13s4) to a Mazda Capella (whatever that is ) some 35s per lap slower . I had a 1-hour broadcast of that race it was quite entertaining to say the least !

| For sure, I would pick a touring car, if they were included. Could you insert a capri 2600 rs or a Pantera? I like these races with multi categories of cars. | |

| Multi-class racing is indeed a vital part of Endurance racing, but a VW Scirocco vs. a Group C is stretching it a bit though ! Truly these cars only were there to make up a decent field quantitatively, and it was only possible because it was the Nordschleife : spectators want a big field there otherwise they would have to wait for entire minutes between two cars, and traffic is not as bad as on a shorter track were the 956s would lap the TCs every 3 laps or so (as was the case in the Kyalami race I mentionned). | |
