BMW M1 1979/80 Procar mod _WIP

I Thought it would be an idea now we have the Physics sorted out to start a thread
on the Wip so we can see what work still needs doing before final release .....

Although the paint work is not essential i do think it will be better if we just spend
a little time cleaning up the Old skins and adding them to the New Template its just basically
removing the old panel lines as these get duplicated on the New mesh with the old skin ....
Here is a list of cars most of which are from the old mod so just need a little fine tuning ....

Are you finally going to also repaint the Pace car?

Another area that would be worth looking into (I'll do that) is the drivers ability file. I would like to see them qualify and race properly, not the F1 guest drivers starting on the back and being easily overrun by the "amateurs". In 1979 they started in teh first positions, but they didn't always finish like that. In 1980 they had to qualify on their own. Since I have the statistics I guess I can tune the racer files accordingly, and I have some time while you paint the cars.

Also, did you find good pictures of the #71 Munich car? I think they I can extract from some certain logos, but for others I could find good pictures of the monument they depict and use Paintshop to make them look like oil paints.

BTW did I mention that I also can paint? I did a 1999 and 1998 carset for IDT's Champcar Challenge mod

I Seem to have found a car which has been missed from the original mod it was painted
but the naming of the files was all wrong so it did not show up in game i wonder if theres anymore like that ...

I Know when we raced online that the Merzairio 70 car and the 70 Denim car DDS
was getting mixed up ,this is an easy fix just add the letter (a) to the end of the DDS file and save in the vehicle file

We really need to check and double check all this ...

And for some reason my M1 Showroom has gone missing .....

I have a qst. the template are (2048x2048)pixels, after i have done the skin need to rescale to (1024x2014) px?

When we released the mod originally for F1c they where all 1024x1024
but i think most peoples pc's should be able to handle the bigger size ...

If not then we will release a Lo Res version as well .....

Yes a double check of all cars is needed. Probably also a full renaming of strings/prefixes following a logical code would be in order, but may be that is by now a huge task, dunno.

I agree. Downsizing them later is quite easy, but they must be hi-res in first place.

I Have some very good pics of the car including the bonnet and sides the hardest part is the roof
and grill on the back ... so hopefully they can help ....

OMG, it's so detailed

The model is amazing but looking at when the last post was on both of those threads i dont think we have anything to worry about , no posts since 2009 means it probably wont be ready until GT3 or RFactor 3 ......

I Know we dont have so much detail on our model but we do have 5 years head start on everything else ...

I Would like to think that are mod has evolved into one of the best Rfactor mods out there....

They dont have all the reference material we have had over the years plus we do have some of the best simracers out there helping to perfect the Physics .... which has to be a huge bonus for us

So am i worried not at all well maybe a little bit in say 5 years time

I have complete the blue skin like the mod but there are some little difference in to the real world (inverse color of the sponsor es., i can do the black version too.
But i cant find a font like the original logo of AIRPRESS my it is little different, can be ok anyway Carl??
