While another oval test will be programed, why not to race offline with this Cart98 on SanJose 2007 from iDT???

Still a Beta but iDT tracks are always well done. CART Factor oval test - Page 5 Icon_razz

hmmm...smells good here :slurp:

There´s a Motegi oval in beta state at Rfactorcentral. I have it and graphically is quite good, looks finished. But i have no idea if the flags work correctly (i don´t give a damn about AI behaviour, never race them).

http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?3miyjmymrym

There´s a Toronto there too, quite a crude conversion from Indycar racing II. Graphically looks quite dated but it drives ok (but can´t answer about invisible walls, polys or other pesky problems that can ruin races).

http://rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=Toronto%20ICR2

Surfers Paradise has two versions, one taken from TOCA race driver and another one more recent, but too much w.i.p. at the moment. Graphically is much better but you can jump the chicanes with total impunity (and there are quite a bunch of them here).

http://rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=Surfers%20Paradise

Regarding the other ones, i have been unable to find any Jacarepagua oval nor a Homestead without banking (i hated that track with a passion on NR2003). Michigan and Fontana, guess the Pits trackpack will have them, but in they most modern state.

I tried Motegi earlier, and it doesn't look really good. I may have a better option from a recent game Smile
There's a less outdated Toronto somewhere (couldn't find it on rFC)
The ToCA version of Surfers hasn't an accurate layout, I know a better one is in the making.
Fontana is apparently from NR2003, it could be an interesting base to work on.
Michigan is missing the mas files :langue: but there's a good version in ARCA SimRacing. With minor tweaks it could look as a 98 track Very Happy I just need the original track :jp:
And I found Homestead in... NASCAR Thunder 2003 drunken

There's still that issue with the "driving too slow" penalties on ovals, if it cant be fixed, i'm afraid we can't do the full series. And of course starting a full CART series would mean we'd need to drop the F1 79 series.

ok, that means from my point of view, that the a-team should stay away and leave the F1 1979 as it is.

F1 1979 is a classic here...I think that the only reason to drop it could be CDTP F1 1994 Smile Smile

Races would be every 2 weeks, not enough time to practice, especially for drivers participating in both series.

it's all about being able to run both CART and 79 session on sunday. And also about the difficulties to keep the CART car on the track. Some us seeing them running on rails rather on tracks :D :D

There's the Toronto I was thinking about, less worse than the ICR2 version.
I have Homestead and Fontana ready to be edited, and Motegi but without textures scratch
