the chassis of the BT49 is definitely an improvement compared to the BT48. Having a front wing is great, because i never drove the BT48 with front wing. But the difference between the BT48 and the BT49 is not that big. Because the BT48 is definitely more powerful.

I think that there is a time difference on tracks like montreal or monaco of about 1-1.5 second from the BT48 to the BT49. But on tracks like Monza or Hockenheim, they are probably equal, because of the huge power difference.

But i like them both, BT48 and BT49

Regards,
Mario

Allow me to disagree a bit with you Mario, I drove the Brabham quite some times and for me there's a huge difference in terms of chassis. The smaller Cosworth V8 makes the car a lot more nimble than The Bt48. Not so powerful, but a lot more efficient Wink

And you know why you didn't drive a BT48 with front wing ?
The car had a front wing at Buenos Aires and Interlagos but at Kyalami, Lauda went off the track in practice, lost his front wing and ... found the car handled better like this Smile So they kept the BT48 like this for the rest of the season.

C'était une course dons je vais me souvenir Very Happy
