| The hotlap for the 1979 F1 series is now online . Also, Mauro Mariani and Corti have improved this version of the track to v1.04, with better textures, shaders, reflections and a better road mesh as well . We'll use this updated version for our race, it will be installed on the server soon . | |

No sorry mate, not how it works : - Quote :

But you can have one of the free cars in the entry list .

But you can have one of the free cars in the entry list . Aw crap.....I missed that line......there goes my "wait in the wings for s decent one off rather than get trodden in the opening stamped" But out of curiosity, the reasoning for that ruling?

Mainly to keep it accurate, i.e. not have a guy using 5 or 6 or more different cars along one championship which barely if ever happened in real life. Also we don't want one-off drivers to influence too much the points race, while there is also some concern about tourists coming just for a race, wrecking or misbehaving.

| Hmm, Ben did a new package with the updated v1.04 version of the track. Maybe you need to uninstall or unsubscribe to the original v1.02. | |

| I see you are on the server now, are you talking about a time you just did ? Because hotlaps are not instantaneously showed on the hotlap page. The hotlap plugin scans the server every 10 minutes for .xml files in which to grab times. These files are created at the end of a session, so in around 15 minutes from now for the session you are now in on the server . | |

| All the links from the race poster in the first post are now active. As this is the first one for which we have all links this year, a summary of what each of them gives you access to : Round 1 - Argentina - link to HSO Digital Library (scanned articles, magazines and books; mainly in ). For this race you get a full copy of the Italian Autosprint weekly and the scanned articles of the race from the British MotorSport and the American Motor Trend. Track Download - link to download page or source for the circuit. Historical Facts - link to real race results (statsf1.com will be used for F1 races). Track Info - link to track layout and profile from theracingline.net database. Video Footage - link to video footage of the real race. Live Broadcast - link to HSO live broadcast for the event. Weather - link to openweathermap.org weather predictions for the location of the race. Hotlaps - link to HSO hotlap page for the relevant car/track package. | |

There will never be a pit speed limit in HSO races, unless specified otherwise. Even if the track we use has one and you get a pit speed limit mentioned in-game you can safely ignore it : no penalties will be enforced either by the game or the admins.

Hmm, really ? That's how all HSO championships have ever been run, although there has been some bouts of heresy in this respect the last couple of years. For one thing, it's one of HSO's founding principles : the point is to be Lauda or Jones or whomever during the 1979 Grand Prix season, not to be Jones one race, Laffite at the next and Merzario at another. Also, it's not fair to have some people committing to the same car all year while others can pick and chose the best car available at each round. It has to be either fixed for the season or totally free for each race as it is in the Gold Star series.
