Rookie of the Year and the
Jigger Award Race Day Schedule
Sunday May 21st
All participants must have a car booked in the Race Entry List. Only the fastest 33 cars will be allowed to start the race. In the event that less than 33 qualified on May 14th, the remainder of the field will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis on Race Day. In the event that 33 qualified and there were drivers too slow to make the 33 car field, up to three alternates will be named (34th, 35th and 36th fastest) for Race Day, in the case that one or more of the qualified cars do not appear.
All times listed are CET time.
19h30 - Practice starts (attendance mandatory for first three rows of the grid)
20h00 - Warm up session for race
20h15 - Opening ceremonies and drivers briefing
20h30 - Race Start | 200 laps (after 3 extra pace laps)
Server no: 91.121.135.76:34410
Password is: hso88
**Those drivers with older computers are advised to reduce their detail levels prior to logging on**
A training server is now running 24/7 (same password)
The following procedures will occur during the start:
The race will be programmed for full flag rules and 203 laps (the three extra laps will be used to clear any penalties and get the cars in the proper formation for the start)
Here is how the lap cadence will go (all of these laps are conducted at 100 mph):
- Game-controlled pace lap: Two-wide formation behind the game-controlled pace car; the green flag given by rFactor is ignored.
- 1st extra lap: Drivers with stop/go penalties can pit at the end of this lap to clear them, then rejoin the track.
- 2nd extra lap: Drivers use this lap to re-sort themselves in single file according to qualifying order.
- 3rd extra lap: Drivers form rows of three after the turn 2 exit*; the actual green is given by an admin at the end of this lap.**
After the race, the three extra laps will be deleted from the results, so the distance traveled will show 200 laps.
*It is the DRIVERS' RESPONSIBILITY to know what row they are in and what cars they should have around them. Failure to line up properly (e.g. wrong row of the grid, wrong place within the row) could result in a post race penalty.
**Admins reserve the right to abort the start if they feel it is necessary for the good of the event.
If drivers experience any undeserved penalties during the race itself, they can continue to drive the rest of the race as normal without serving the penalty; any lap penalty that is tacked on at the end of the race will be edited out by the admins post race.
Full Course Yellow Procedure (En français en dessous)
This series will see the appearance of the Full Course Yellow procedure. When rFactor judges that a situation is risky (a car stopped on the track, a spin on a speedway etc..), he will throw a Yellow Flag. From the time this Yellow Flag is thrown, overtaking is forbidden, but if you have doubt about your position, rFactor will tell you where you have to be when you will cut the start/finish line. At the same time the pitlane will be closed, it will be open again for the cars in the lead lap after one full lap behind the Safety Car. For the car which are a lap or more down, they will have to wait another lap. rFactor will anyway tell you in the chat all these informations (don't deactivate in-car chat).
When the Safety Car is out, you must keep a normal pace until you reach the the line of cars behind the SC. Otherwise you'll get a penalty. Same when you exit the pitlane under yellow, you have to be quick enough to rejoin the SC.
/!\ On oval track the leader will have to be careful to not overtake the Safety Car when the latter is exiting the pitlane. /!\
Drivers must be single file for the restart.
*** VF ***
On restarts, all cars must be no more than two car lengths apart, and single file.
Failure to observe this rule during the race could result in a post-race penalty.
*** VF ***
Lors des restarts, toutes les voitures ne doivent pas être séparées par plus de 2 longueurs de voiture et sur la même file.
Tout manquement à cette règle peut entrainer des pénalités après course.
Pit Entry and Exit Procedures
During the race, cars entering the pits must fade left briefly on the backstretch to signal their intent to pit. This rule will only apply if a car or cars are running immediately behind the pitting car. Failure to follow this procedure could result in a post-race penalty.
During the race, cars exiting the pits must keep all four wheels under the yellow and white lines until they exit turn two, then they can blend into race traffic. Failure to follow this procedure could result in a post-race penalty.
Behaviour on track
A few behaviour rules :
- as for all HSO races, it is required you use your real name both in-game and on the forum. Thank you.
- Chatting is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN in race session. It is allowed in qualifying sessions for technical issues only.
- Drive Through : If a driver has to do a drive through, even if there is no pit lane speed limit, he has to drive through the pitlane at 100km/h max (60mph). If he doesn't respect this, he will get a 30s penalty at the end of the race.
- If you have a spin on the course, it is YOUR responsibility to make sure the track is sufficiently clear before you rejoin the race.
- Weaving back and forth in an effort to break the slipstream of a following car is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN in race session.
- Respect the red condition at the end of the pitlane.
