| Never had higher tier than the tier VII SU-152, the awful T-43, the Panther, the Jagdpanther (one of the rare TD I never loved) and the AMX 13-75. I stopped gaming when the designers butchered the TD to please to the whinning guys driving heavy. Playing mostly TD and light the game was less and less appealing. Only the heavy were considered. Unluckily heavies are the shittiest class for me (my worst tank ever was the KV-1) _________________ | |

Well, I think you all too late allready! When I was your age, my kids allready new which part of the house is off limits. Nowdays, they are not even notice me in the room. Unless I put the sound on the air instead to phones. Allmost same with my wife. Im part of the furniture. So, from my experience, kids are not the real problem. Its the job. Kids never took so much time and energy as any job I did. _________________ And Function Function is the key - Fugazi | |

| Together with the cockpit, I'll have to buy a new PC, as the 10 years old pal is begging for retirement. I put together this package. It hasn't been approved by the shop yet, but it should work fine. Anybody with computer knowledge here who could take a look at it, please?

| It's a good package, but I think that you should consider getting 16GB of ram (2x8GB) if you can. If you don't, then 2x4GB is better than 1x8GB to use the Dual Chanel (the RAM is used in a better way with this) of your motherboard (every recent motherboard has the Dual Chanel). If you plan to keep your PC for a long time, maybe look for an i7 instead of an i5 (but prices are not the same of course). On the GPU side I can't say, I'm with ATI/AMD since forever The brands are great, I had two MSI motherboard and no problem with it, Kingston is great too, as is Seagate. _________________ | |

| Thanks for the your analysis, Martin Let me explain how i got to this package. Frankly, i'm no geek, all i did was some web/youtube research on PC forums and watched dozens of benchmark tests. All i want is FPS. I don't care about SSD at all, so i scratched it. The gaming FPS difference between i5 7500 and cheap i7 is some 10% and it seems like most games can't even use the i7 properly. However, 1070 is up to 25% more powerful than 1060. As the card is the most expensive component (and impossible to upgrade), i don't think it's wise to save in this area. Regarding RAM, it's always possible to buy more. Sadly, my budget is tight, you can't do much with 1000€ per month. And that's significantly above Czech average. Sad story... It's obvious that with the boom of Virtual Reality, demands for hardware will go through the roof. I don't really hope it will be good enough for VR. All i want from this PC is to run current games (rF2, AC, Dirt, Truck simulator) on triple screen/UHD TV with maxed out settings. Do you think this setup will be able to handle it? | |

| Indeed most of current games will not need an i7 to run with maxed out settings I don't know about AC and Dirt, but it will be more than enough for rF2 and Truck Simulator (both American and Euro). 8 GB of graphic memory will be useful for the UHD or triple screen. You're right about the RAM, you can always buy some more later if needed. But then, consider buying 2 x 4 GB instead of 1 x 8 GB _________________ | |

| Indeed the big difference between i5 and i7 is the HT (Hyper Threading, a kind of adding virtuals cpu cores). The HT is mainly used by creative softwares as photoshop, premiere pro, 3d, etc... It increases the speed for the renders. Too few games use it. So if you don't use this kind of softwares, i5 is sufficient. The cpu frequency is more important for the games. About ram, 8gb are sufficient for games. About Ram frequency, you can increase a little bit that with a 2x4Go DDR4 2400 MHz RAM, the price difference shouldn't be very different from your initial 2133 MHz choice. For games, the main is the GPU and its RAM amount (to use great AA and great shadows, they are the more resource consumer in game) mainly if you count to pass in UHD or triple screens in the futur. The 1070 is a very good choice IMO. I use triple screen (3x 1920x1080)since some years ago, I started with a Radeon HD4870 1Go, I own now a nvidia gtx 970 3.5Go. The ssd doesn't increase game performance. It brings only better speed to boot, and fludity for OS. In short, comfort. Try it one, and you won't come back to classic hdd for your OS. I've a ssd with only OS on, and the mains softwares (like photoshop, 3ds max, browser, ...), my games are on others classic HDD. _________________ O.K. Just a little pinprick. I think i'll visit you soon It looks very good, what an upgrade from your ancient wooden chair. I bet you'll be even faster now Just one suggestion - as you drive mostly open wheelers, it might be worth to put a silver tape on the upper half of the monitor frame. Maybe, just maybe, it could make the frame a little less visually disturbing...? I've never seen anybody do it, though. See what i mean: https://goo.gl/photos/Cownvv7PAXKkmkoW8 | |
