20.00 : Essais libres / Free practice.

Petits rappel des règles de course :

- Pas de pseudos sur le serveur, on court sous son vrai nom.

- Pas de chat en qualifs, encore moins en course. On respecte les pilotes en piste, et on attend la fin de la session pour parler ou s'excuser si besoin.

- Grande prudence au départ, la course est longue, les voitures fragiles. Le replay du départ sera examiné après course, tout comportement trop dangereux sera sanctionné pour la prochaine course. La modération sera tout de même plus souple pour les nouveaux arrivants.

- Réglez votre voiture de façons à ce qu'elle ne fume ni en qualifications ni course. Des sanctions seront prises le cas échéant. Il est recommandé de mettre le radiateur au maximum pour la course, les voitures chauffent énormément sur la grille de départ, ne jouez pas de l'accélérateur à l'arrêt. N'oubliez pas qu'il y a un tour de formation.

Nous utiliserons le mod GP1979 Master Series V1.1.



Here's a quick reminder of few rules for the race :

- No nicknames on server, everybody race with his real name

- No chat during qualifying session and race. Please respect others drivers on the track, and wait for the end of the session to chat.

- Please be very careful at the start, the race is long, cars very sensitive to contacts. The start's replay will be carefully reviewed and there will be sanctions against wreckless drivers.
Nevertheless, we will take in consideration that newcomers haven't necessarily an experience of such races.

- Set up your car so it doesn't smoke during qualifying and race or you'll incur a sanction. It is higly recommended to set the radiator size at the maximum for the race, cars heat up in huge proportions on the starting grid. Don't play with throttle when your car is stopped.
And dont forget there is a formation lap.

We will use the GP1979 Master Series V1.1 mod.

Attention à bien télécharger la version de Silverstone donnée dans ce topic .

C'est la dernière version (2.5) de Silverstone 79. A noter que nous utiliserons un tracé nommé "HSO Silverstone 1979". Ce tracé est exactement le même circuit que la version 2.5, juste nommée différement. En effet, j'ai constaté qu'aucun mismatch n'apparaissait si un pilote entrait sur le serveur avec la toute première version de ce circuit, où la chicane passait beaucoup plus vite. Utiliser ce circuit HSO est le seul moyen de garantir que le pilote a effectivement la bonne version.



To all 1979 F1 drivers, please indicate in this thread if you will miss the race, this will allow potential occasional drivers to participate to the race.

Please download the Silverstone version given in this topic.

It's the very last version of the Silverstone's 79 layout (2.5). Please note that we will use a track nammed "HSO Silverstone 1979". This track is exactly the same as the 2.5 version, just with a different name. Why that ? Because I noticed that if a driver tries to connect on the server with the very first version of the track, where the chicane was much faster, no mismatches were reported. So using this HSO track is the only way to garanty that drivers have the right version.

T'as fait deux petites erreurs dans la presentation Gui.
Ferrari T4 ne pilote pas la voiture Marc Florkin (je l'ai pas trouvé dans le mod d'ailleurs cette caisse ). Idem du coté de l'ATS

Does anyone happen to know how much time does the new chicane take in comparison to the old Silverstone?

Last year's pole was 1'12 for a Williams. I haven't made a serious lap on the new track but I think the new chicane should cost something like 1 or 2 seconds.

2 seconds approximately. I was doing 1:14 in the old one and 1:16 in this one

1.14 in what car?

At present, I have squeezed out 1.15.200 in the M29 with the prospect of getting 1.14.900 but no more...

Did those ligiers cut the final chicane? I'm getting worried about the time gap

I cut the Chicane in my best lap Tiago (as i said earlier) ...my PB is about 1 15 9
(Gui peux effacer mon temps si il le veut bien (ca n'a pas trop d'importance je pense))

But Pawel did not cut the Chicane ...he's just very fast

Yesterday i did my best 1:15:5 in MCL29
without cuting any corners
and I think I could be a bit faster, something about 0,5s

Then I must be really concerned about it

It is possible to do at least 1.13.900 in the Ligier.... - for sure someone can make it faster.

My new record in the M29 is 1.14.600

Then maybe I must be doing something wrong or the Alfa is really a truck

I am not so happy because only 1.17.600 in the Shadow

Well, there's a car slower than the Alfa. I'm not alone
