| If I'm knocked out of the race early, I'm going to Schultz's for a 20 pound bag of charcoal briquets. That's a good value for money. _________________ | |

| Go R. Calabrese. I knew that was a good car. It was the one Bettenhousen lead most of the prior years race with. Everyone seemed to overlook it. My back won't let me race that long. | |

It's actually the first of the 950 HP cars in the grid. All cars that qualified better have 1000 HP in qualy trim, i.e. 50 HP more. In race trim the differences are reduced to 25 HP _________________

| So it has 875 in top race trim (90 inch) i knew it had less than the top Penske cars, hence as i said, Rocky did a great job getting it there. Will be nice to have it in the race as Loquasto threw it into the wall on his qualifying run in '73 _________________ | |

| I believe Yves' car has also only 950 HP, but I might be mistaken. It has slightly more downforce than the B model, that's for sure. If Yves car is 1000 HP then Rocky is the first 950 HP car and I am the 2nd _________________ | |

| I think Yves has the 1000bhp qualifying engine, The Penske Mclaren were on par with the works cars I believe. I'm suprised your car didn't have the top engine with it being part of the works Eagle team and with it being Bobby's pole car from 1972 _________________ | |

| Dallenbach's car was the classic sponsor-pleaser "extra entry" many teams did with older cars, like f.e. Foyt with his spare Coyote for Snider, Mel Kenyon with his old Coyote-Kenyon in the hands of a 2nd driver etc. Of course there is nothing that confirms or denies that Dallenbach's car had less power than the official #8 and #48 Eagle 73 entries, but Gurney having done already the effort of adding the spare Eagle 73 as #48 to the grid (Which did not compete the rest of the season regularly) shows that the team was already a bit stretched, and it was only logical to think that #62 was put together for Indy with the spare parts lying around and did not have the best engine available. There were also already enough 1000 HP cars around, maybe I should have even lowered to 950 HP the extra Patrick cars like the #60 but I did not want to add another extra custom HDV with more variants. In all I am quite pleased with the outcome of my qualy, but I came so close to breaking the 200 MPH lap mark that it obscures a bit the result _________________ | |

| Was it tuned by Smokey Yunick? Cause he claimed 1300 HP for his double turbo chevy but the car underperformed even behind the Foyt engined cars. _________________ | |

Actually, Loquasto walled it in Practice, her never made it to Qualifying. Also Al's M16B was the car that Mark Won the previous years 500 with.

| The #28 Bob Harkey made it into the race, I think he just retired on the warmup laps of the original start (Walther crash one)
Edit : according to ORC his engine seized after 12 laps. _________________

| Just to reiterate for those who may have missed it...
Jean-Louis Petillot will likely not be starting today's 73 Indy 500. If that happens, we will allow one non qualifier to start 33rd. The first non qualifier on the server will be given that slot, provided Jean-Louis is absent. _________________
