| I think JP did make some corrections, but somehow they weren't used in the race itself | |

| Results are up. Some things still need some massaging, but as far as I can tell, Mike has credit for his pole position and Richard has credit for the win | |

Meh. It still says 202 lap race. Not sure how to reduce it to 200 without jacking the whole thing EDIT: Figured it out, it now shows as a 200 lap race. Now we just need to fix the question marks and the missing side views EDIT: "???" and side views are fixed now

| More than a month ago I received a call from my friend Arturo Pereira: "You know the HSO are organizing the Indy 500. Cars73 the Champs mode for May 31 We signed???" Are you crazy? "I said," these cars are difficult to handle even on the straights !!! "" Racing 200 laps with 32 other cars ... impossible !!! "... Two days later we were signed ... As Arthur had chosen Eagle72 in their 3 options, I did the same to exchange setups. That way throughout the month we were working as a team (Arturo has great experience on ovals) and thanks to him I found a qualifying and a race setup very easy to drive (in how easy it can be these cars). But it came a little detail, while the Arturo´s Eagle had a Offy engine mine had a Ford, therefore according Carstat had almost 150hp difference in the configuration of classification and the same difference in race configuration. Therefore I had to change my strategy, and to pretend a place on the podium was impossible, I began to think about the race as if it were a test of endurance and aim to be among the top 10. . So I chose to run with less powerful engine (80in.HG), rather closed radiator (a careful eye to the oil temperature), gear box a little long to take advantage of traffic and strategy 3 stops. At the start I was further delayed because a car was stopped, and both Lee (another expert on ovals) as I went past by the rows behind us. The start was clean and began the task of passing cars that were old chassis (Eagles68 / 70) powerful engines (Offy) and were very well driven (Alessio and David). That work took me 14 laps and finally in the 29 could go to Dave. From there, free way, watch the mirrors and the scheduled stop at 50 laps. Everything was working wonderfully, he was on track behind Lee (although several seconds behind him) and before Dave (Miller), but feeling very comfortable in the car. Also note that when the car they had chosen a strategy of 4 stops returned to track I go at your own pace (I was in those 10 laps before stopping full in everywhere) so my final position in the race was to be among the top 10. But on lap 72 began setbacks. At T2 a misunderstanding with Mike made me do a full spin. I did not lose my position and the CarStatus everything seemed OK. But in my stop scheduled at lap 100 my mechanics began to fix something and instead 25 seconds it took 65. . I lost my position with Dave, but I thought it could recover at the end of the race. But on Lap 114 an Eagle hits from behind at T3 and made severe damage. For a moment I thought about quitting, but all the effort a month deserved better, and especially the work of the organizers. So as I could get to the pits (after 3 laps) and my mechanics there took more than 80 seconds to patch the Eagle. When I returned to track the only thing I could hope for it was to finish, so I just started lapping. I did my last scheduled stop, again took more than 60 seconds (it seems that the tape had been taken off by the wind). And again on track and finish. Thank you all for this wonderful race, HSO, to all participants and congratulations to the winner. | |

| Excellent Claudio. We had a few drafting runs in practice as your car was faster in the turns and I had a higher top speed. I was hoping to hang to you in the race but I got understeer in the draft and then you were gone. | |

| After deliberation by the admins, here are the additional award winners for this race: Jigger Award recipient: Sven SelbmannSven was very enthusiastic throughout the month and logged many competitive practice laps in preparation for the 500. His qualifying run was among the most consistent. Then, right before race time, a technical issue caused him to leave the server, and he could not get back in. This unfortunate circumstance is definitely in the spirit of the Jigger Award, and so it goes to him. We hope he has better luck in next year's 500. Rookie of the Year: Tyler GreeneTyler was completely new to the HSO scene and the 73 mod, but he was instantly fast and put together an amazing performance on race day. He would have qualified higher on the grid had his fourth lap been cleaner, and he likely would have won the race if not for an off-course incident late in the day. Still, his HSO arrival hit like a thunderclap, and Rookie of the Year honors are very much deserved.
