anyway i got that place back cause Alberto was so kind to put his car in the wall , but could have been as great as both mustang drivers
Talk about mental disposition lol ... during the race I noticed that I could mantain my distance to you comfortably and if you closed in I could open the gap again tenth by tenth, which means that thanks to me being in a faster car we were more or less matched. So I started thinking about letting you get closer so we could have some fight towards the end of the race instead of a lonely race. Well, obviously my mind played a trick on me because just as I was thinking "let's wait a bit, maybe if I make an error he will get closer anyway" I went and spun stupidly exiting the infield into the oval No wall ramming or even touching, but the grass was so slippery it took me too long to get out and I couldn't provide a better fight for the end of the race.
Other than that, I feel sorry for the guys in the Camaros, they were unfairly too slow here.
And congrats to Ricard for the amazing victory, and Austin for the close finish. A race worth watching on TV when you have such people leading.
@Mick: Yeah, I noticed the Capris could stay on the draft in the fast section and if you let them pass when going for the inside they would easily leave the A sedans behind and you did not catch them again at the oval, so I guess that was the best policy to lose the less possible time. I did it with you once and it worked like a charm, lifted a bit so you could stay on the draft and let you go in front when entering the inside and I had no problems.
When's the next open, gimme my Cuda back?

The victory in A-Sedan belongs to Ricard, you won B-Sedan. But of course also congrats to you for your own one

If IMSA had survived, the first round at daytona will be started to midnight. And the banking in the night, is a very nice view, with lighted balloons, headlights in the far, etc...

Sounds...........Beautiful
Maybe IMSA could be revived by just doing all the races as 1hr races, as last night seemed a great success.

All races, where the capri raced, are fine for me. No, I'm not a mono-maniac.
For sure, there will be again an IMSA or SCCA open. And I think too for an open with the wonderfull F5000 mod.

Looking at the real T/A cars in pictures of the time none of them seemed to have headlights, obviously because they normally raced at day and wanted to save weight. But you bet the crew could bolt the headlamps back in 5 minutes if required by the race, so it's a shame the HGT mod team didn't at least leave them as upgrade

T/A racing is great though sadly the real races were two hours long, and that would probably make it a too tolling championship for HSO drivers. Still ... I would join it if it ever gets organized here

Yes great finish between Ricard and Austin.
It was proper drafting Nascar style. We could do a full oval race someday with these cars, it would be amazing I think. But maybe it wouldn't be historically accurate?

The tires and suspension are totally inadequate, it was horrible to drive the cars at the banked section. An oval race with this would be crap

Yes, the right side of the cars did sparks all along the banking.

Some admins here have a soft spot for NR2003, I guess if you can convince them to run a classic NASCAR race the best bet would be the GN70 or GN65 mod for that game
