Experience interressante, j'ai bien aimé le départ style "Le Mans" Very Happy

I took my time to get going, always these buttons Razz

Race over after 23 laps which I saw coming, I must have changed my gear setting by one down which made me reach the red zone of the 4th gear, thus engine overheated and died on me Sad

Even though Frank was so nice to help me out, I made a terrible mistake by changing something and not checking it Embarassed

Still, the mod surely is an all-time classic, not just because of historic cars Wink

Well that was fun while it lasted. Someone hit me hard in the back in a high speed braking corner and that sent me off track fast enough to flip at the wall. Granted I was a lap down to him, I was preparing to move over in the slow part. No worries, it is the first time anyone has wrecked me out of the race and I have certainly caused my share of mayhem. :aie: :urgence:

I thought for sure I would DNF by my own actions but I guess not. :rigol:

Embarassed

My race went really well, one of the best I've had in a while, when a bit before lap 40 my wheel just stayed in my hands instead of staying together with the rest of the structure affraid

I pitted, made a very shabby glue fix, and went back out again, climbing ffrom 8th to 4th, unfortunately this setting lasted only 30 laps, and I soon had my wheels in my hands again Sad I tried driving just by handling the gear-shifting paddles :urgence: but it proved dangerous and slow, so I thought I'd just retire. Now sitting in the pits waiting for the leader's last lap to cross the finish line with them, in 9th I guess Smile

Superb event, we need more long-distance races like that, if you enjoyed it give GPL a try, that's the kind of races we're running in the Sprinbok Series :top:

Fortunately I've got a back-up G25 :hihi:

:urgence:

I really liked the LeMans start! That was fun. The race was fun until I was reminded of an appointment somewhere else. I drove it off the track trying to convince my better half that I should be racing instead. I lost that discussion and had to stop.
Maybe next time
Had fun while it lasted!

Un vrai régal cette course. :top:

A++

bonjour monsieur!!

It was a fun experience, but certainly very tiring. I think that I had never "simdriven" for 2 and 1/2 hours before, and I never thought I would make it till the end. Shocked

The cars are beautiful, even if not the style I like (Too much sliding around), and my driving was always conditioned by the HGT2 Readme, where it warns that the engines are quite fragile. I was afraid I would blow it up or make an error that would end in a crash, but no, I made few errors and the engine lasted 1962 RAC Tourist Trophy [Sept. 23rd] - Page 5 420535

I had some nice fighting at the first part of the race with some other cars, but then one by one they started dropping off with problems and in the end it was nostly a lone race. I even stopped to bump Frank -who had rolled over- and see if I could turn his car upside down again, but since it didn't work (It was heavily trapped in the sand) I went on with my race. Maybe if I had not stopped I could have fought for 7th place, but I was certainly slower and only the fact of not needing to stop had brought me that high in the standings. As I suspected, the tires lasted the whole race, and being lapped 4 or 5 times sufficed for the full tank to make the distance 1962 RAC Tourist Trophy [Sept. 23rd] - Page 5 613582

Apologizes to anyone I might have blocked too much while fighting -it is my crappy driving of these cars, which I do not control as well as I wish- and congratulations again to podium and to all survivors. Thanks HSO 1962 RAC Tourist Trophy [Sept. 23rd] - Page 5 12028

Well that was a great race for me, I really liked the "Le Mans" start. I managed to take the lead, ahead Lorenzo, who made a mistake during the first lap. When he get back in the second position (lap 10?) he was 17/18 seconds behind me. I did few little mistakes (wheels in grass...), and since Lorenzo was a little bit faster, he was back right behind me at the lap 55.

He then made his pitstop, it gave me a 40 seconds margin. Slowly this margin was reduced to 35 seconds. That's the moment I've chosen to make my biggest mistake, a double spin  28 seconds margin, lap 75, and still my pitstop to do (I finally did it just after my spins) scratch

When I left the pits, I found Lorenzo just in front of me What a Face After 2 or 3 laps of an interesting battle :top: I did few mistakes again, and another spin. Knowing Lorenzo's consistency I decided to drive safe until the finish line.

Congrats Lorenzo, you were definitely faster yesterday :top: . I could have win without mistake, but since you did little mistakes too.. It's a tie game lol!

Congrats to all finishers too, and thanks to all lappers, very nice all the time :top:

My only question is was Lorenzo written in C+ or another language? He is a machine! I have tried to drive many of his setups. It is like a mortal trying to pick up Thor's hammer. I am thinking it is C+ with deep encryption :D
