I badly hit the wall on the right corner after the bridge, and broke my suspension. Tried to repair but after my pitstop, even if the speed was back, the car was very scary on left corner. As I didn't want to interfere with someone else, I left Crying or Very sad

Not having turned a wheel on this mod since the last race we did with it (wherever that was ^^), and having joined the server just 4 minutes before the end of the warm-up, I didn't expect much of this race to say the least :D. Still, nice few laps with Matt, Sanjin and Carl. Sorry Carl for the bump in the warm-up lap and the turn 3 block in the race :aie: Embarassed .

This is the day I could kill someone if I find out who it was :grrr:

I started carefully and went well despite losing some positions to faster cars till I got too close to Philippe while braking and had to spin to avoid contact. Sajin caught me and we had a really nice fight til I managed to pass him. And just then, as I exit the last corner and accelerate for the straight, the telephone rings and someone had forgotten it in my desk, behind my monitor :grrr: :grrr: :grrr: I was shocked by the sudden strong ring and spun stupidly in the straight :grrr: :grrr: :grrr: :grrr:

The car got damaged even if not losing wings, I pitted to repair but it was not well driveable as the wheel wasn't centered and pulled to the left, so I quit. :bangry:

Thanks to Sajin for the nice and fair fight :chinois:

Pity that we don't run this mod more often

True. i know about the problems rFactor have with oval racing and all, but maybe some day the admins could give the mod and a oval track a chance. i used to race with this mod in a league and i can't remember one single time we had problems.

Ben hit me from behind just before the turn that leads to the pit straight, and my car went directly towards the wall. With the left wheel lost and the front wing broken, i couldn't manage to get ouf of the sand to try a repair in the pits. Ben fairly waited for me (thanks for that m8 :top: ), but only a truck could get my car out of the escape area. lol!
My apologies for this bump. I should have to take more safety gap before the turn. Embarassed

My first top ten finish, albeit due to attrition. But I'll take it Very Happy

Had a lackluster start, as my heart was ready to leap out of my chest the first two laps. Once I settled down, I had a spirited run with Carl (he eventually got by). The first time I got lapped by the leaders, I got clocked from behind from a Ganassi car, not sure which one. At some point, I had a spin of my own and damaged the steering. The car was pulling to the left, and I was doing everything I could to keep the car pointed the right way under braking. This is likely what led to contact with Lorenzo on a few occasions (my apologies) ran 9th until I had to pit for fuel, nursed the car home while trying to stay out of the way.

Congrats to Gui and Lorenzo; I'll have to watch the replay and see the finish...

Haha,

we raced right to the finish of the match

i raced 3 or 4 laps in qualifying with a setup that someone of you sent me (3 guys in fact, THANK YOU)

in these three laps i had to learn track and mod.
1 51 or so

(pac west, reynard merc firestone)

then in second quali i drove 3 laps 1 48 or so and 3 laps in warm up lol

arrived 5 minutes before race start, had to assign a button for rngine mapping change

it was all not so good by me, the siebert setup was perfect but i cant drive.

i went next to sthe track amny times and spun but elegantly (lol) avoided the wall with a 26° steering lock and no change in the speed sensitivity.

at the end i was really closer to the limit only 3 seconds off pace (or so) lol

but had to drive the whole race with booster one.

much to go, i am not in racing anyways and i see i lack many ability.

but for jumping into cold water place 5 wasnt too bad. with boost one i think i couldve even run faster and 1 45 werent too bad.

needed 30secs repair in pits also.

some guy braked really hard in the second time i lapped him he also brakled so hard. the crash was a misunderstanding because two cars lapped him and i avoided.

you cann see it in the replay.

thats all the race.

was nice and i tried to drive leaned to the chair with my back so it wont hurt so much :D

il oved the daydreaming of driving a merc much more than my pace Smile

but in the end it was fun i could even countersteer and slide a bit. lol

Ok now i understand, no worries m8, i was just a bit angry after the race because i had a great pace and couldn't use it properly Mad

And now my race..good start on boost 1 trying to save fuel as much as i can, it was working well until the first contact with Jason, that time it was my fault, sorry m8, i spun and rejoined 9s behind Gui.
The gap stayed the same before his first stop, i pitted 2 laps later for a 18s stop (dunno why, i got some damage but i chose not to repair it) and i rejoined nearly 20s behind.
I turned up the boost to 3 for the 2nd stint, i closed just 5s on those 17 laps, i had lots of troubles in traffic..

I had a good 12s pitstop and i rejoined 12s behind, from then boost 5 all the way, i closed 1s a lap and finished just behind Gui, well done m8 Smile

A bientôt,
Merci à l'organisation :hello: .

I'm glad I won this one, that was one tough one-week long battle with Lorenzo :D
I went for 3 17-laps stints, and thought I had the race in the bag after the first pitstop when I had a 17s margin over Lorenzo. But I lost time in traffic in the second stint, and Lorenzo managed to go longer on fuel in each stint, and had a very short and fast last stint. I took easy in the last laps, didn't feel very confident with the worn tires and finished with only 1s ahead cheers

I uploaded some screenshots of the race on the website, if somebody wants to post his own on the forum, i'll upload them on the website. Wink (size 800x640)

============

I even get in Gui way when he was lapping me 2nd time. sorry.

Later I get tired and I did 3 big mistakes and damage car. field has pool away and than I quit, car was to much damaged.

I had few hours to test car on track. so that was biggest problem.

Interesting. According to my calculations, I was able to do the race with boost at 4, maybe only lowering it to 3 for the last 5-7 laps of each stint :hum: It seems the combination of the more fuel efficient mercedes engine and my driving style is good, so far in all mods we have run I seem to use less fuel than most people :cowboy:
