Although I think they used the long Paul Ricard in 1979... Must have since De Angelis got killed on the old circuit in 1986 during a test. http://www.rfactorcentral.com/detail.cfm?ID=Elio%20de%20Angelis%201975 | |

| All of the Castellet layouts were used back then for testing, it depended mostly on what the teams wanted . | |

| It's a Honda CBR600 4-stroke. Yeah, Anderstorp, Sweden. Where they ran F1 from 1973 to 1978 (Until Ronnie Petersson and Gunnar Nilsson passed away) also home for the Swedish TT (GP bikes) for many ears, World Superbike, FIA GT twice, BPR (Before it became FIA GT), Historic racing European championships a few times (Iyncluding the Steigenberger cup in 94... wow) ISRS (LeMans sportscars), ETCC, WTCC and lots of other international events. May as well mention I've been working there as a marshal since the early 90's so I know the track fairly well. It's only 5 km from where I live. | |

| I could hardly have been wronger on the bike . Glad I got the track right tho \o/ ! Nice to be marshalling at Anderstorp. Too bad we don't have it in the 1979 championship. It was initially part of the WC schedule but was cancelled early in the season, with the passing of Nilsson and Peterson added to some dirty moves by Bernie E. You must have seen some nice racing there ! I remember how Eddie Lawson used to win there only the years he became World Champion. Also the BPR GT races mid-90s, it was so nice to see some international action back at the track. | |

| Ahh, it's a lot better in real life. The version for GTR2 -> rFactor is crap. Layout is close but that's it. It's a whole lot of fun on a bike. Let it be a nimble but slow Aprilia 250 or a hyper quick Suzuki GSX1000R. A car is ok, but I've never driven anything quicker than a 300hp crap Saab there. Sure it's got long straights but it's the corners that makes it fun. | |
