| If I can get the last car, I'll be there. BTW, when this track was codded, the edges of the tarmac were delimited by the fences but at each cones and post, the limits jump back to the edge of the track. The rendering engine makes jaggies out of it. Its not a problem for online at all but the AI will lose it for no reason. These jaggies show up on LiveRacers specifically because the pit road ends up being wider than the track so it's engine goes berserk. I cleaned it all up for myself but it would need to be a new download. It's just the AIW file. Here at Woodcote: | |

| Thanks for the offer Gilles, but i doubt we will be changing the files at this late stage. It seems you know your way around AIW though. P.S You got the car, see you Sunday | |

Can you upload it somewhere for us to download. Even if it doesn't get used this time it could be used in the future.

| Thank You for having me, I'll be there Sunday no worries.
As for the AIW, I've been doing those for rF1 for next to 10 years now, I use to post them on NGR...
I changed a tidbit on this one last night, I'll test it this afternoon and upload it to MediaFire soon.
Thx again.
I also cleaned up the slalom the AI were doing in the paddock.

I think it's an affect of texture tiling syncing with the framerate(? 60fps) and speed of car, so it appears the road (or the bumpmap for it) "stops" and it seems the car is kinda floating when going along a straight. And then when slowing for a corner suddenly the texture/bumpmap appears to be moving away from the car as the "sync" between car speed and texture repeat changes slightly. [Most noticeable in the rollbar view (I use cockpit view with the cam raised a bit)] Kind of like the wagonwheel effect in film. It isn't as extreme as in this video, but similar in principle, I think. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QOwzkND_ooU or this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8EMI3_0TO0 I tried different road textures from other circuits (I think ROAD_S.dds might be the culprit) but nothing seems to fix it, so far at least. I shall try a Reshade overlay with some motion blur or something perhaps, because it's very disconcerting. I tried to video it, but video compression prevents the effect showing up in recordings. And stills don't work. I tried Watkins Glen as a comparison and that doesn't suffer the issue so obviously at all. No worries, I'll just try to ignore it.

| I figure why it was showing " 1946 ", I had set my birthday to 72 and not 1972. Garbage in... garbage out! @Dave, "big ship" as in big shipment or big boat ? | |

| Sky on Silverstone is striped while I am driving around. Any clue how to solve that? I already had Silverstone71 in my locations folder and I simply overwrited it when asked. | |

The Circus effect !!! Try augmenting the Track Details a notch at a time. If that ends up taxing you computer and your frame rate goes south (CTRL-F to get the frame rate at the top right), you can try and switch the SKY01.DDS that resides under "Steam\steamapps\common\Automobilista\GameData\Locations\Silverstone71\". The present one is over 4 meg, if you look in the folders of the other tracks, use a file manager like Windows Explorer, navigate to the "Locations" folder and use the Search to find another one, most are 2.7 megs. Use only a SKY01, not a SKY02 or 3 or 4. SKY01. Rename the original and copy/paste the smaller one and start AMS... should work and it won't give any online mismatch as it has nothing to do with car performance. You can also use one from a rFactor 1 track. HF

| the sky is from the hudson kerr package created for rfactor back in well 2007-2009 and the best around for rFactor! and use them always in my tracks this needs FULL textures to make it shine Afterall we all should run in 2019 low 3d model tracks with High rez textures arent we? upgrading low tracks with highh rez textures makes alot diffence in immersion so upgrading your hardware is more nessesary then lower already a poor track to comic textures in 2019!! and if not then simply crank up all graphics in menu to full / max despite the other textures in this AMS version are not present as i intended ( got knows why ) and use a low quality sky makes it even worse and frustrates me alot while the quality is there and not shown to you pc as intended by give the same immersion in all you rooms around the world what that is created with full passion. | |

| I found the file that was causing issue ROADdetail2.dds I swapped that with a road texture from Snetterton and it works much better (the repeating pattern is gone) I also have a different sky This road texture does generate some anomalies on the left hand side, as on the inside of the corner in the pic above. But I prefer that than the floaty experience on a synced repeating pattern. All good now. | |
