After reviewing Round 3, the admins have made the following decisions:
Greg Goissen and Yves Plaçais both receive warnings for circumventing the game's tow-back feature by leaving qualifying and rejoining. It was made clear prior to this race on the forum that such tactics were not at all acceptable. Additionally, this constant leaving and rejoining exacerbated the FPS problems some drivers were experiencing. All drivers are expected to either deal with the 200+ second tow-back time after an incident in qualy, or limp back to the pits in order to shorten this timeframe. Repeat incidents of this kind will draw disciplinary action from the league.
Jason Whited receives a one-race suspension in the F1 1971 series for the following issues:
- Reversing into oncoming traffic after a spin on his 42nd lap. Following a spin on track, drivers should keep their car still until all oncoming cars have passed, reducing the likelihood of a secondary incident with cars taking avoiding action.
- Circulating the track for multiple laps on three wheels and failing to abandon the race when ordered to do so.
In both cases, Jason presented a needless hazard to other drivers. The severity of this penalty is primarily due to the fact that he did not react immediately to an order from race control to abandon the race. Repeat incidents of either kind will draw further disciplinary action from the league.
