Yes.
There was also a chicane after the Adelaide hairpin which was removed in later years.

It was the first Grand Prix on the new layout of Magny-Cours yes, but of course not the "first race ever" there ^^. A great shame since the switch from Le Castellet to Magny-Cours deprived us southerners from our national GP and also because the Magny-Cours layout was (still is) a dreadful piece of tarmac. The decision was highly political as this was an area where many of then French President François Mitterand closest's friends had ties (Pierre Bérégovoy and Michel Charasse).

I noticed a chicane I was not sure I saw ever before.. but TBH, I started to watch F1 regulary when my country, and place where I lived got first cable TVs, and Eurosport, and some coverage from our national TV stations, before that, it was a mission imposible to watch an F1 race, and it was somewhere in 92-93... I remember watching the race when Ayrton crashed..
Before that era, my father was watching a coverage at RAI 2 (Italian national tv) which could be seen at my place (since we are pretty close to Italy), but the signal and picture quality depended a lot to wheather conditions. So, mostly it would be a lot of snow on tv, some F1 cars shiluettes, and an italian speaker speaking a language I did not understand at htat time.. (it was in the 80ties).. but my father would watch at that for whole two hours and everybody had to be quiet, including his mother in law, my grandmom, who though, naturaly, that he is completely mad...
Somehow, I have the same situation today, only im watching a pirate stream, again with a lot of lag and blocking and my family thinks Im not complete in my head

Well, as Jason said, Id give my left arm to see a F1 race on our one-and-only national track, which is just few km from my home, and which is BTW the only track in ex Yugoslavia too, and there was allways a lot of political promises that F1 will be brought to Grobnik track, expecialy becose Bernies wife was from my city (she even went to same school as my kids did), but all that political frienships and connections could not collect enough money to make that come true.

Raul, you guys should resuscitate the old Preluk/Opatija track and have a round of the International Road Racing Championship on it, instead of longing for Formula None

Heh, I dont think there is a chance to get neither of that... and Preluk/Opatija would be something wonderfull.. Our country is not abble to make a public road corectly, without affairs and disasters, I think racing track is more like an unpleasent joke!
