| You can race the Benetton for this race only, but you must drive the Coloni for the season.
We also do not let newcomers have the best cars for a season too until we have full judgement on their race pace and at first glance you seem very quick.
Please say in the race thread if you want to race the Benetton for Imola.

| Ok prendo la Benetton per Imola. Se nel prosieguo della stagione si libera qualche altra vettura, la prenderò. Grazie | |

| The Benetton will become free on the entry list after Imola as to not cause confusion. The car will then go through the usual process. | |

- Sorry Petr, i can't let you jump up to a group 1 car. I know you are struggling at the moment, but i think you will eventually get to grips with the mod and then you will be quick and back to running near the front plus we all know how quick you are. Your performances in the Williams showed that.
Oh, I thought Benetton is a group 2 car. Okay, understood.

| I free my car to someone who can make better use of it.
Nuffin' wrong with the car as such, just not my mod. Physics and graphics are great, but as someone who's used to sequential shifting and autoblip for about 18 years since I got my first wheel, suddenly having to learn that or live with a big power deduction leaves me with no realistic chance to make the grid in the forseable future. So it'd be unsporting to those on the waiting list to block the car any further. All those guys having done their best efforts to help getting the car up to speed and me to the grid got my appreciation.
I just hope the CART 88 mod doesn't come with the same feature, cos else I'm mostly much done with racing for this season.

| Maybe you just need a Benetton Btw: I am still using my paddles, no way in hell I am gonna be fast with the h-shifter(of my G27). I still use the first gear update though so I don't get penalised? | |

CART88 has sequential gears, but you have to lift while upshifting and blip when downshifting. If you don't do it there is no big problem however, as the limiter will prevent the engine from blowing anyway.

| You can select semi automatic transmission in the upgrades Michael, this will blip and lift for you.
CART 88 has a H shifter gearbox, but the cars and not as "stressful" as the 91 F1 cars.

Btw: I am still using my paddles, no way in hell I am gonna be fast with the h-shifter(of my G27). I still use the first gear update though so I don't get penalised? Well, I gained no less than 5 kph uphill to Tosa using the realistic gear option, and the considering you gain more at lower than higher speeds, there are quite big chunks of time hidden. I lose everything braking and downshifting again. Presuming I get around the corners and don't skid into the gravel. - Alberto Ibañez wrote:

If you don't do it there is no big problem however, as the limiter will prevent the engine from blowing anyway. Well, gotta test it when its out. So far, I just killed two engines, but that was more due to insufficient cooling, but not from sloppy downshifting. My issue is, as I never bothered with that, my attempts at blipping are complete hit and miss. Which often sends me into the gravel either all four wheels blocking, or to fast. Or I limp around the corners way to slow, because for once I got it good but left too much leeway. - Richard Coxon wrote:

That's where I was thursday night, lifting on upshifts and semi-automatic downshifts. Lapping somewhere around the 1.32.5, with a top speed of 308 kph. So back the the realistic gearbox option, I approach Tosa at 314 kph, and the greatest effect of the additional torque on the laptime is usually at speeds up to 250 kph. If I get the downshifts right, I gain 7/10s in the first sector. So the potential is clearly visible. But as I'm not used to driving that way, I can't carry it over a lap or the distance. Using semi-automatic downshifts, I feel like I pretty much exploited the possibilities of the car, now that I got it into a decent balance. Using the realistic gearbox option, I'm clearly nowhere near my personal or the car's limits, and at the moment I neither have the time nor motivation to relearn driving. And stumbling around like this (and being a possible hazard to others) doesn't give me any joy or satisfaction, so I call it quits here.

| After reading the message of Michael, the Modena-Lamborghini # 34 is also free for the rest of the season. In december, I was very happy to be able to participate in this championship with a full time car but, after three events, I must admit that I do not have my place in this championship ... This decision was difficult to take because it is not my rule to give up but it would be unfair to continue with so many drivers who wish to participate. Like Michael, I prefer to leave the chance to participate in better drivers than me. My sincere apologies to all those who have not had the chance like me to have a full time car at the beginning of the season and in particular to the organizers for having entrusted me a place for this championship that I did not deserve ... Thank you for giving me a chance. Thanks to François Remmen for his help for Brazil and Imola but I was not able to exploit your setups correctly. My own setups had the same results. Good end of season to all ... | |

| I know it's not my group, but if you don't ask you don't get: Can I have the Benetton?
I can't get a consistent set of laps out of that Jordan, and I'm slower than almost everyone else in Group 2.
Should I be too fast with it, I'd be prepared to return to a slower car.
