Power outage.
Had a great first 20 laps, great battles with Yves, Didier, Jundt and Hlavac, awesome racing there! But I fear that the last 40 would've been eventless. Had a lapse of concentration and punctured a tire, but 30 seconds later the power went, oh well.
Don't think I'll finish out the season. It hasn't been a fun second half of the season for me.

Was fun while it lasted. Lap 1 was crazy, as many cars were going off. I believe Jan's evasive action may have been caused by me, because I was trying to take lap 1 easy and he was surprised at my braking point. I am sorry about that I eventually had an accident at the chicane, similar to Greg's. Car was undrivable and i slid off trying to limp back to the pits Back to oval action next Sunday

Qually: Good, a PB and right behind my teammate so I couldn't wish for much better.
Race: I get off the line reasonably well, there's some congestion in front and I move to the left side of the track. Suddenly Petr Hlavac brakes for no apparent reason. I hit him, lose the front wing and go off into the grass. One lap down to start with then.
Being dead last, my only aim was to finish. My race was saved from boredom by Didier Conjeaud who was chasing me after his pit stop. The Lotus was very good, but my McLaren handled brilliantly and I could put it where I wanted, which was usually in front of Didier. He made multiple attempts into the first turn, but I got him back every time. I finally made a mistake, Didier opened a gap, only for him to spin out and me catching him again. He passed me again and just left me behind me as if I were parked. Late in the race I had a small accident, but by then I was last on track anyway so it didn't matter.
Ninth place isn't bad, considering everyone who finished in front outqualified me anyway.

Well....
Really dissapointed with the event as it ended up
I knew I would struggle but I didn't expect the car to be that edgy but it was, flew off the road at the Heel when the rear end went sideways on me out of nowhere and the car became more and more undrivable and after the 3rd time in the pits, and I went to go the car was all over the place, it was just fair to everyone else to park it up and swear...
Oh well, at least the racing seemed allright, what I saw of it watching the race helping with the broadcast.
Take care everyone and see you at Canada, another circuit there that I can't see the McLaren liking in the slightest...

1) Qualifying: Atrocious. Simply atrocious. if it wasn't a one-off, Enzo Ferrari would have fired me faster than he fired Clay.
I thought I was going all out, but I found no answer to the pace of the Shadows, Copersucars, Wolfs or ATS' and thought to myself: "David, you're a tier 1 driver, aren't you? WTF are you doing back in P17?"
Having to re-experience the mod shouldn't be the issue. Maybe the Ferrari's a pain to get right? Maybe I didn't really take the turns as one should?
I have no answer right now, not in my setup at least. But I was at least 3s away from what I wanted to display
2) The race didn't get much better. Firstly, I was lucky there was a restart. I simply forgot we don't do Reco-Laps anymore
I avoided carnage on the second start and sneaked into a good position.
But then, a bit like Gianluca, I noticed I had underfueled by around 10 - 15l Somehow believed 2.5 to 2.6 was the race consumption, but it was 2.8.
I had to cost around and lost more than 30s I'd say. This would have meant P5, probably.
But even then, my pace with the Ferrari was unworthy of it imo. Finally I get to drive a cool car for once and I simply suck. I am unhappy with myself because I couldn't get the Flat V12 car on the scoreboard
I am gonna lose my top driver "status" if I keep going like that xD People like Greg, Vincent, Raymond and Jacob show how to be quick in a slower car and I can't even get close to them.
Let's hope I get to return for another race at Montreal. Maybe then I can finish this season off with a good result.
Yes, P7 isn't a bad result, but I never competitive today. With a Ferrari. That does grind my gears.
The Glen is yet another track which heavily favours Ground Effect cars, so i wasn't expecting much. One, maybe two points as a result of other people's bad luck. P8 in qualifying confirmed my expectations.
Don't crash in the chicane in lap 1. That was my goal. Well, i didn't even make it to the chicane without an accident Yet again, a Lotus car (driven by Didier this time) had an awful start and held up the whole right lane of the starting grid. Me and Vincent were desperately trying to find a way around the struggling Lotus and hoping we won't get hit from behind by other cars. I did it somehow, but as i was approaching T1, i got a little lost, started to brake a little earlier and got hit by Juha (sorry for that). I was extremely fortunate to make a full 360 spin and continue without a significant time loss. Unfortunately, i got a severe left-rear damage. Steering wheel pointed to the left and i got a horrible oversteer in every single right-hand turn due to bent suspension. Once i learnt to drive this heavily modified car, i just started to push as hard as i could. I had some nice battles with Jacob and Ray, then i reached David. Handling of my car got gradually worse, fishtailing like crazy, but surprisingly it was still good enough to keep up with David's Lotus. After some 15 laps i finally did it, moved up to P2 and remained there until the finish. There was some hope towards the end of the race, when something happened to Gerard, but i just couldn't push any harder. Frankly, i was glad that it was over
Looking forward to Canada, where the lack of ground effect might be less of a disadvantage.

Well done to Gerard for bringing the Lotus home for the win and the rest of the podium, this race had a high rate of attrition . The constructors title is still up for grabs with that win as both Shadow and Lotus are on 79 points.
I had great fun at the beginning with Greg and Gerard, I got caught out by Greg braking slightly earlier and in my attempts not to hit him (Sorry if i gave you a scare) i lost the car. Completely my fault.
Hopefully i will see you all at Canada
