After reviewing the replay of the Monaco race, the admins have made the following decision:
A warning is being given to Gérard Ryon for an avoidable incident on lap 2, in which he ran off the course and rejoined right in front of two other cars, driven by Jan Kowalski and Steve Parker. The resulting collision led to Jan and Steve's retirements, and likely contributed to Simon Wattman's retirement. Continuing to race in this manner will draw disciplinary action from the league.
We call attention to this incident as a reminder to everyone: when you have an off-course excursion, and are able to continue, it is YOUR responsibility to make sure that you have the room to rejoin. We understand that visibility can be tricky, especially at a track like Monaco. Even so, we believe incidents like the one described above can be avoided more often than not if discretion is exercised by everyone.
