| First of all, thanks to all the organisers, and it was a pleasure driving with most of you! And congrats to all the podium achievers! I had a tough start, as I got hit pretty hard from behind, in the the first 10 laps, which really tweaked my steering. A few laps later, coming over the hill, I found a yellow car virtually stopped in the driving line. Unable to stop or avoid, I ran into the back of him, resulting in major damage requiring a lengthy pit stop putting me several laps down. The faster cars were quite patient in passing, for the most part, except for one red demon, who chose to pass me on the right in the grass, down the back straight!! All in all, I had a fantastic time, ultimately finishing 11th. I look forward to the next event!!

Hmm not sure what you mean Andre. In qualifying you can go back to pits pretty much how you want to, but in the race a "ESC" will retire from the race pure and simple . probably I confused HSO with some other hardcore league (NkPro maybe), that you had to get back to pit driving. If you hit esc(out of gas, accident, whatever) you couldnt drive any more laps. - Christopher Snow wrote:

Hope you are all having fun.
CS Hi CS, would be interesting meeting you again so many years after the mod was finished. What a bunch of nice guys CSGT was! After my almost 3yo girl was born I stopped simracing, and recently I began again in a GPL league. Yesterday was the first online race with the new setup, using clutch, right foot braking, triple screen and 3D glasses. Thanks for organizing, what a joy it was. Soon at qualy I noticed that Patrick times were closer to mine, but never imagined that we would stay almost the entire race banging wheels. Many position changes, side by side action, respect and skills, and with the faster cars getting on the way, or the other way around :p. After the race I thanked my wife so much for allowing me to have so much fun . Amazingly we went to the pit at the same lap. As we were so close I decided to try something risky. I was on soft tires, that seemed to be in good conditions, so I only put gas, what gave me a 18 sec stop in contrast to 40. In the rush I hit the pit wail on the exit. Got 25 sec lead to Patrick but soon was clear I wasn't going to hold it, not sure if were the tires or the suspension or I was too confident on the tires. Later Patrick had to pit once more and sealed our fate. In the end the leaders came hot in the last turns, glad I didnt screw the finish. Im not used to multiclass races, hopefully I didnt stress anyone during the overtakes! Grats to Ricard on his victory at first HSO race. Tiago ruined my excuse for being so slow and blaming the S2000 car! Improved a bit my HSO stats, I believe I had better numbers in the first F179 champ, but couldnt find those races. Too bad GPL seems to be retired here, it would be the perfect place to do what GPLcups tried to. So many historic recreations possible now

You took part in our 2009 F1 79 series. The results/standings are in the archives section of the website

Probably because your car DID NOT have lights! - Alberto Ibañez wrote:
Well your car didn't have any headlights so don't worry about that
Wishful thinking then it just would have been nice to thank the slower cars as normally its me being lapped everyone was very helpful ... Good job it did not get dark then Well done Mike on the Top 5

| One question: Is a Bathurst 1000 open event planned for this year with the TCL mod? I would love to race in that event! Or is it too soon to tell? | |

| We will probably get a Bathurst 1000, but I will vote for giving you a 250kgs penalty to balance the field | |

| Well that was a nice event, despite the disappointing turnout. The track felt a bit like Indianapolis on LSD but all four corners of this freaked out rectangle were rather fun. The last one, the uphill left hander opening the pit straight, was particularly enjoyable with the ALFA. I still think there is something terribly wrong with this mod's physics, particularly under braking and re the latteral grip. I must apologize to Jean-Louis for the bump in the first lap, and same to Tiago for coming back on track in front of him out of turn 3 - I was trying not to spin it and ended up on the right side of the track just as you arrived there . Having rear-ended Jean-Louis right at the start I waited for him, which pretty much meant I spent my race trying to catch up with the top 10. I was on softs with 80L of fuel for a 2-stop strategy so the car was fast all race long, I even was able to close on/stay with/and eventually pass the leading duo of JP and Ricard at some point in the race ^^ . But I had troubles keeping focused more than 15 straight laps which means I spun and crashed out something like 15 times . Still I had some very enjoyable laps with a lot of people, I particularly remember a nice scrap with Carl's 908 (nice inside move in turn 3 mate ) and it was fun to fight it with Tiago all race long : I would catch and pass his 2-litre Porsche only to spin out some laps later and have to do it all over again . | |
