Hi guys. I am now starting my new track project. This time its a real one who doesn't exist for rFactor. It's the Vila do Conde circuit. This circuit its/was a Portuguese urban street circuit located in the small town of Vila do Conde, where I live. Ill get more info to you ASAP. I plan to do the 70's version of it, but its gonna be hard, as I'm just starting creating objects with Sketch Up... The thing is that I can't export the models in to btb xpacker. So.. I'm gonna need help. This track was used mostly in Portuguese nacionals and also Spanish. Anyone can help me with this?

Ok I use Bobs track builder. I'm used to play around with it already. But I've never learned how to make and import objects, textures... into Bobs track builder; so I use only the XPacks that I find in the Internet. Which was ok for playing around with some fantasy track making. But for the real track I'll need specific objects who are to be found on this track. Such as a small Castle/Fort, a monument, the garden...

I'm not using BTB, so I can't help you with that, but you'll need to create your own objects and buildings with a program like 3D studio max. You can try to search for a google warehouse building

Nice project. You can also rip objects from other rFactor tracks (with permission, of course) or directly from the ones that come with the game.

Alberto... rip? I'm learning so much these days about btb and moddeling tracks. But I still dont know how to mount a custom made horizon on the «.mas» file. I want to photograph the real horizon of Vila do Conde... But you have different horizons around the track. You have the dunes and beach, the river side, the north side, and the east side. Which are very much different. Any tips about the horizon creation?... how many views has to have and how I link them together around the track?

Edit the bka.dds texture in the mas, and that's it. To open mas files

I know I was kidding ... as in Rest in Peace Anyway, I'm making progress. Now I can make my textures and imported into BTB XPack, and also made my first 3d object model, and succesfully imported it into btb I'm now designing the «Iglesia» which is on the «esses». I'm very enthusiast about this

Ahhh
Anyway, great project I have seen the videos and indeed it seems to have been a fantastic track, racing at the edge of the sea but being able to actually see it as well as most of the city (Unlike our boring, concrete plaged, no water visible "Street" circuit at Valencia ). It really brings back nice memories of how epic and colourful was racing back in the 70s and 80s

Yep, after a few laps on a test layout, I've been able to race the track I know well, but not on racing. Interesting to realize that some corners I thought I could go flat out... and I can't used to pass there at no more then 100km/h

Well 100km/h would be flat out in the first car I had
Great that you have already a test layout Also, if you can post here pictures of the track's buildings and monuments that you are collecting for reference, maybe we can tell you if there are similar models available in other mods, etc

I know its not that much detailed, but I REALLY intend to finish this track ... So I can't wais to much time with moddeling... but I know I eventualy will, since I'm a complete newbie at this

Wow those are really nice models indeed It's just a matter of converting them to the game format. You will probably need to find another format which you can convert to from your 3d program, and then from that intermediate format to GMT. For example, if you can convert them to 3D Studio Max, then with 3Dsimeditor you can convert the 3DS to rFactor GMT

In the inmortal words of Antoine: "I did not come here for sightseeing, I came here to race" so don't worry; that detail is perfect for what you will actually notice while racing

Don't you have more complicated ? - With the "suprise package" I gave you, you can open sketchup models (.dae IIRC) or .3ds (that you can export in sketchup) and save them in GMT or whatever suits best. - In 3dsmax, you can export GMT models, no need to get 3D SimEd.

That's cool, did not know that Google sketch up was recognized by Sim3D now that will be a goldpot for David
