| Hi all. I used to race here in nascar2k3 gtp mod. and I was fast enought to be happy. If I where losing I was losing 1 sec. per lap most, No I am trying to race in Rfactor here in Croatia we have ligue that i like to join but peoples are to fast for me. I drive for 5 days and i am still 3 or 4 second slower than faster guys. same thing was here when we race in rfactor, i did 3 races and i was struggling to be in top 5.
mod driven is F1 RFT v 3.2
I am asking this here cos some of You guys are fast in both simulations and i like to see what is important in rfactor. In Croatia i am only one in N2k3 and few of them was drive old GPL. but this young guys are all in rFactor. same is here. time is going on.
Now I will say what i use: first G 25 is wheel i set my GTP or any n2k3 car at road races to soft as possible and i use braking balance at 48%-51% , whit softering front roll bar i get more turn in. and else is not to much important. in GPL i use same balance 48-51% and i use 30/85 diff some times 45/60 diff. pretty much locking in power and low locking in coast side. i like to trail brake in to corner in N2k3 or GPL i use brake and throttle all time together.
now in rfactor and in f1C (ISI) my tectonic is not good. i think so. I find my inside front tire locks in entering every turn than i se 46% brake balance and tha things looks better but i am still to slow. I got some of setups from fastest guys here and they have 54.6 or 54 % brake balance to the front. if i take this setup i am locking in every turn. I like to see some sugestions on this. please . maybe i am whole wrong.
Now i know that u dont like thise modern f1 but this is not important cos i am slow in all mods. i was drive CHAMP 98 here and was pretty happy whit time but still to slow for real racing.
looks like i will need to start drive some of open events here to get used to game. but installing lots of mods is killing me at start.

| Sounds like you have the front suspension settings too soft, causing front lock ups,try stiffening the front and more rollbar to stop tyres lifting from track in turns and locking up | |

| I drove on both games, now I'm only racing on rF. And I sucked on GTP by the way. Mixing racing sims is not a good thing if you ask me, they all require a specific driving and you can't switch from one game to another just like that and expect to have the same level against guys who are only driving one sim. And Papyrus and ISI based games (rFactor, GTR2 ...) have a very different feeling. The only time I got a decent feeling with GTP was when I drove miles and miles at Le Mans for the 24 hours race, appart from that this mod was usually getting on my nerves. About your problem with brakes I dont know, maybe its just the mod you're using that doesn't suit you, or maybe you don't have the rFactor feeling yet... Hard to tell. | |

| yea i don't have a filling yet. i must practice. I will try to race in rFactor.
I think my braking intu the turn is not good. i was braking all way to the apex. and that dont work here. I must learn to release brake and than turn in. imposible. cos i race in gpl like that for 10 years. | |

| Ok guys. I am driving it a lot now. did another 80 laps now and i take one sec down. this is looking better.
I like to know if is there any thing that is not smart to do. like using to much camber or have to low pressure. is there any rules that works in most mods?
i am skiping GTP (got banned for flaming ,ect) and nascar oval racing(did 140 races, thats enought for me) and i dont drive gpl any more. I find in Croatia these peoples and will try to stick whit them in this rfactor.

| I think doing laps again and again is the right way to improve your time. By the way, it was the same thing with GPL and GTP, we had to find our sensations with each sims particularity (the lack of grip on the front of the car in GPL for example). And I think as each mod is very different in rFactor, there are no things to change in the setup that will work with each of them | |

| Yep, before thinkning of changing anything in a setup, you must make sure you feel comfortable with the Game/mod/whatever physics and see that you can't improve anymore before tweaking the car. After those 2 steps (comfort/setup) it's all a matter of natural talent | |
