WSC 1970 - Dunes Trophy, Zandvoort [August 1st]

The next HSO summer event, a 1970 non-championship race for the beautiful sportscar from that era, gathered here for a 1 hour battle in the dunes of Zandvoort !

For this event we will use the WSC 1970 1.0 mod for rFactor by CSGT.

The track will be the 1970 layout of Zandvoort, created for GPL and converted by DutchDevil :

Planning (Paris Time )

Thursday July 29th
9:00 pm : First qualifying session ( 2 hours )

Saturday July 31st
9:00 pm : Second qualifying session ( 2 hours )

Sunday August 1st
8:00 pm : Free practice
8:30 : Warm-up and drivers briefing
9:00 : Race start

Race distance : 40 laps
PASSWORD : hso70

A training server will be running 24/24 with the same password.

Race will feature a rolling start.
Once everybody is on the grid and green lights have been shown, drivers will start a formation lap at low speed. Do not overtake, keep a good margin with other drivers.
After the last turn, cars will keep rolling at reduced speed in the starting grid formation.
When the leading car will be in sight of the start/finish line, an admin will give the real start of the race by typing "GREEN FLAG" in the chat.
It is not allowed to overtake before crossing the start/finish line !

L'open d'été HSO suivant, une course hors championnat de 1970 ouverte aux magnifiques prototypes de cette époque, réunis pour une bataille d'une heure dans les dunes de Zandvoort !

Jeudi 29 Juillet
21:00 : Première séance de qualifications ( 2 heures )

Samedi 31 Juillet
21:00 : Deuxième séance de qualifications ( 2 heures )

Dimanche 1er Aout
20:00 : Essais Libres
20:30 : Warmup et briefing des pilotes
21:00 : Départ de la course

Distance de course : 40 tours.
PASSWORD : hso70

Un serveur d'entrainement tournera 24h/24h avec le même mot de passe.

La course démarrera par un départ lancé.
Une fois les voitures sur la grille, lorsque les feux vert s'allumeront, les pilotes s'élanceront pour une tour de formation à vitesse réduite.
A la sortie du dernier virage, les pilotes se remettront en formation (mêmes positions que sur la grille de départ), et un admin donnera le départ en tapant les mots "GREEN FLAG" dans le chat.

Alfa 37 please. Par contre ca risque d'etre chaud pour la course vu que je fais le trajet Grenoble- Bretagne ce jour là. Mais bon ca devrait le faire tout de même.

The last man in the Alfa's lineup quite degrades the quality of the whole now . Never really drives the Alfa before and I don't like that much Zandvoort. But no #27 Ferrari 512, nor 2L. And for open I'd rather switch to 3L (as for Buenos Aires where I've tried the Matra).

Allez, je me lance donc en 5L (j'ai mis cette émoticone parce que je ne sais peut etre pas ce que je fais ).

J'hésite entre une Lola et une Porsche. La Lola semble tout de suite plus facile mais c'est peut etre le setup par défaut qui convient mieux.
Comme il faut choisir, après avoir lu les infos des voitures je vais me décider pour la Porsche n°30 du Gesipa Racing Team (dites moi si je fais une connerie SVP, je n'ai pas assez essayé pour etre sur de mon jugement, et si je prends mon temps pour tester il ne restera plus rien d'interessant).

La 917 c'est pas ce qui se fait de plus aisée à piloter. C'est même, à mon avis, la voiture la plus délicate du lot. Pour une 5L tranquille à manier mieux vaut se pencher sur la Lola qui est vraiment beaucoup moins rétive (mais qui est aussi beaucoup moins performante).
