I regret to announce that Aston Martin no longer have need of my services. As a result I will be enjoying a much needed break from racing until the new year.
Have fun all, until then. Thanks to all at HSO who make this possible and to all the drivers who share this virtual tarmac with so much enthusiasm and courteous behavior.

It's a bit of sadomasochism with these cars on this track, but I'm in, anyway

I didn't feel at ease in the car since loading up this track. Massive understeer and the rears light up at the mere suggestion of a corner and throttle. Still, I found a comfortable rhythm and basic setup. Then I jumped onto practice on race day. The track felt like someone had been polishing it since practice. I was sliding all around the place but did set an ok time. Into qualifying and it felt worse. Set one mediocre time and mucked up all my other laps. Decided to change the setup for the race and add 10 or so laps of extra fuel (about 46 laps worth) and hope it would keep the rea more stable. Made a good start and kept ahead of my competition and just behind the works Ferraris. I briefly toyed with attacking them but they soon settled into a slightly quicker pace than me so I focused on my own race. They had a few issues ahead of me so I tried to stay close but couldn't ever capitalise on their errors. Until Mantis got too close to a barrier and bent his car. That allowed me past and into a lonely race to the flag. It wasn't uneventful though. My concentration started going about halfway (Lord help me next week on a long stint). At one point I had a small spin at the first half-hairpin and lost 10 seconds. I also lost my confidence and so the pace really dropped off as I cruised to the end (making a few little slidely errors but no contacts on the way). The final challenge was being lapped by Niklas. I was happy to have one less lap to do but paranoid about spoiling his race.

This was nothing but a torture I underestimated the practice needed for this one. I know the track, raced it a few times with GPL67/69. But this was different. It took 20 laps till I knew what I was actually doing, as it's super easy to overdrive the car at this circuit. But it was worth it in the end. Finally, I managed to beat Mantas in the same car. Yes, he was faster and DNFed, but at least he was behind me when he retired. Mission accomplished Frankly, it would be more interesting if all classes raced together. But we'll get that in Rouen. See you there
