I didn't realize it before, but Emerson Fittipaldi actually tested Johnny Rutherford's McLaren in 1974!
Emmo was a McLaren driver in F1 at the time, which likely made this test easier to facilitate.
Emmo lowers himself into the cockpit wearing his F1 togs. JR chats with Emmo in the garage.

Both Senna and Brundle took part in the same test. Bellof was quickest of all 3 when they were all on hard tires, but at the end Senna got another run on soft tires and went 0.7 sec quicker. Senna was already showing his future power over teams

There is just something about Jackie Stewart. I love the way he explains things, and his attention to detail is brilliant. Wish I could have a beer with this guy and listen to him talk about race cars all night.

It was reported that he would have made the British GP grid but who really knows, it was good publicity.

Valentino Rossi tested for Ferrari many times, and is said to have done some really competitive laptimes. Jorge Lorenzo also recently tested a Mercedes F1 IIRC ...

Never knew you were such a rotary fan. I have a FC3s Rx7. Runs and drives great! I absolutely love Rx-7s or anything Rotary. Lets just say I might have some 4 rotor housings coming in a few week's.........
