Small question: I'm trying to find some info on the RL historical race.

All I find is some general info on the SA 1976 Atlantics season: http://www.oldracingcars.com/atlantic/south-africa/1976/

According to that overview, there was no Atlantics-race at Kyalami on April 24th. Was the RL race a non-championship race then?

Don't worry if you do not have the info at hand. I'm just looking for some back-ground... planning on a small report post race.

A great field so far with only 2 cars free.
Looking at the archives from the 2014 series the fastest race lap was 1:22.399, will we need to be able to lap at that speed to run at the front this time ? has anything with the mod been changed since 2014 ?

The only changes are that Gui, Martin Frank and the like are no longer racing with us ... and Greg is sandbagging

I don't think that I can go much quicker unless I find something in the setup that gives me a extra second a lap unlikely.

The program cover in the first post is from the previous race held at Kyalami;  it is the one Frank used when we ran the SA Atlantic series before.  My guess is that he chose this cover because the actual SA Republic Day program has a rather obnoxious cigarette ad on the front. So he chose this more generic cover as a stand-in.

Anyone willing to share a setup?

I know I can gain about 2 more seconds or so with an actual setup, as opposed to the default that I've been using....

I know that 15th January I will be racing at my dormitory, however the wifi got killed every time above 7 PM until morning around 6 AM everyday since new year, so the prospect of me joining is looking dim, but still not ruling out a sudden working wifi on race day.

Struggling a bit here. Mainly with the car. It's obvious to me that this track is a copy of the original GPL track, with updated scenery. I've put in a ton of laps here over the years but with nothing more modern than a 67 F1 with no wings and skinny hard tires. I've got decent setups but I'm still faster in GPL. I suspect I'm way to hard on the brakes. T1 has been a disaster most laps. My biggest complaint with the default setup was that the brake bias was to much on the front tires. Trail braking seemed impossible with 60% on the front. 54% works a lot better for me. But I'm thinking that for all the corners that we actually slow down for I'm using too much brake. I've only done one lap below 1:26. Hard to brake old habits.

I feel that I have reached a limit at mid 1:23s and the fast cars are going to be doing low 1:22s (or high 1:21s) in qualifying.
Turns 1 and 2 I find tricky to get a good line and I'm sure that I'm losing time there. Following some of the faster cars might help get the lines right but it could be depressing as they drive away.
Still with all 33 of these cars entered there should be someone of equal ability to race against.

Well, I'm a bit lost here, too. No matter what I do, I can't really get the car to follow my input. As soon as I start to push a bit, I get understeer, overcook my front left tyre and can' t place it where I want it to be. Stuck at 1.25 ATM. Anyone able to give me some advice on these cars?

Gotissues on the brakes at Crawthorne (T1) too. But it's at Clubhouse (T5) my real problems are.
The car is very unstable there to say the least. The brakes locks wathever the repartition is, the rear wants to become the front.
Not sure the brakes locking is a car problem as I've got the same issue with the F1 and BTCC. My brake pedals setting may be?

These are lovely little cars. And the race will be action packed, for sure. Can't wait
