I use GID and have never had any freezes,are you using the 1.1.5 version ?

1.1.4, i will try the newer one.

I am usin 1.1.4 and I have never experienced any freezes (at least that Im aware of).

Try the Ligier (even the lowest powered Ford car got more topspeed at Phoenix), the Modena, the Fondmetal or the Footwork... You'll see what slow means
The track is also odd. It's rather unspecific tracks during the season with its 90° corner all around. At Interlagos you're going to find more convential tracks. There you could see if the cars are really to fast for you.
During the race everyone from the 1st to 15th place could catch the points during the race.
Well at last I've finished to stabilize my slug with the help of François and my teammate Steve. They give me some solutions to normally clinch a qualifications spot in the backrow for the race.

With the Ligier, full tanks, fuel mixture to make the full race (which make me lose 10 more KPH....great as the Ligier has already the slowest top speed in quali ) and race tyres I'm between 7 and 8 seconds slower. Haven't try with 100L and wear tyres though.
But I'm not sure your race set will be good in the first half of the race. I hoped you try the car in race set with full tanks as the car behaves quite differently with full tanks.

You can be upwards of 5 seconds slower on full tanks. Everyone should practice with a race setup or you are going to get a big shock going into the braking first braking zone.

And an even bigger shock will get the ones around you

That's usually the reason I am rather slow in qualifying; I suck at putting it all together for hotlaps and concentrate on getting the car to feel as good as I can(sub-perfect at best) for the race.

Although, depending on the car, this might mean I won't even get to start it in this championship


Speaking of starting, when Philippe announces his participation, we'll have a full 1991 entry list that will try to get to the race


EDIT: I think I also had some issues with xD in the past. Sometimes it also didn't show, but maybe I messed up when installing(like the .dll file).

As for GID, is the freezing accompanied with a flashing screen? Press shift + F(twice) when that happens, I believe.

I hope you have enough RAM aswell?

Phillipe said he has some wheel problems, but I really hope our crew will manage to fix that up!

Also on the two fast corners after the hairpin (there could be some great carnage there during the race). And then, again, in the last 180° corner and the wheel thieves waiting for you there

would it be possible to do a test race start after the qualifying session today? i know i could benefit from the practice, plus it would be an opportunity to test the server settings with a large group.

Since it seems obvious that I'm still at least 6s behind the 26th place of the grid, I suppose that it will fair to stay out of Phoenix and with that give the oportunity to one of the reserve drivers try his luck...

Of course... please notice that I DO NOT leave my belloved seat for the championship... I'm stuck to it with all my teeth ... and with work...things will (only) get better.

Are we really going to race without "non-qualified" cars? What is the point of that, if I may ask.. Dont take this as a critic, but as asking if there is any option we could arrange to keep all cars on the grid!



EDIT: Now I read rules and I didnt find any rule about qually time restrictions!!

we are dropping the non qualifiers because that was the rules back in 91.

Doesn't making the grid feel even better if you know that you've earned it, instead of just qualifying?

Btw: Unless somebody else steps ahead, I wouldn't mind trying to get #14 onto the grid.

Addendum: Please notice that I do agree with the rules (and without them, at most 28). Besides that, a track with more cars than 26/28 could be dangerous and a mess. I'm speaking for me, but what I do not want is to inadvertently ruin the race for someone.

David Jundt: about trying the #14, be my guest (and after that, please send me your setup... ). You can be sure that it will be important for my improvement ....

Phoenix it's a hard track. And for some time I do not use rF1. In fact, I'm just returning to it just for this league ('cause I like Historic F1 races & mods).
