More precisely: Is anyone playing rF1 via Steam?

I am still using it independently from it, in contrast to my other games.

I see there's still a formular to get a steam key for it, but I am not sure if it still works(and if it works for those that own the g version for example).

And if you do go for a steam key, will the game only work via Steam anymore?

No steam for me as long as I can avoid it.

Seems like unneccessary hassle. Plus can you do multiple installs to keep mods separate?

That were actually my points AGAINST Steam(for rF2) Razz

- Too much work
- Bloated install with too many mods in one install

I had to move "embrace" Steam more though thanks to ISI moving to Steam-only.

I am only wondering if this would make sure that rF1 is installed correctly(as I suffered that "game has stopped working-moment at Kyalami without a clue why) and I can use "window" it without issues.

Other than that, I do prefer multiple installs.

I am already wondering if I should create a new install for the Ontario 4 Hours...

I am not quite sure what the main issue is...

rF2 being not good enough or it moving to Steam? Or both together for the nail in the coffin?

It's a shame, the game's quite good if most things are in place.

I am myself a person that doesn't like the switch to Steam only, but as I am racing in the Virtual Endurance Championship(VEC), Virtual Le Mans Series(VLMS), GPVWC and other leagues, I don't really have a choice.

At least it seems to work right now.

Interesting, but a bit confusing...

As HSO is pretty much my only rF1 league, I luckily don't need many installs now.

Not yet going for rF1 on Steam, I wonder if switching means I also can't use it independently anymore?
