| Two very important pieces of information about qualifying:
Once your two qualy laps are complete, DO NOT leave the server until the warm up session starts. If you do, the game will not record your qualy time, and you will start at the back with no time.
For those of you who are new, DO NOT complete the 4th lap of the qualy session. If you do, the game will say you drove one lap too many and DQ your time. The best thing to do is come to a stop immediately after you record flying lap #2, and then hit ESC.

- I think what's the most difficult to understand in oval racing when you are used to road courses, is that your position really doesn't matter during the first 3/4 of the race, you just need to stay in the lead lap and pit during all cautions (unless there are cautions every 5 laps...). So there is really absolutely no need for risky overtaking moves during 3/4 of the race.
But what is also fantastic about oval racing is that 75% of the drivers don't know that or (worse) don't understand that after several races. Meaning they will race like maniacs from the start to the finish, eventually taking others and/or themselves out of the race. And all you need is to stay calm, stay out of troubles for most of the race and collect a good result in the end. The first thing oval racing teaches you is patience.
The second most important thing to learn is how to go fast without stressing the tires. When I first started oval racing, I was quick over one lap but that really doesn't matter over a race distance. After 10 laps my tires were cooked and I was dropping like a stone in the order. bump

| Ehm yeah... Because of problems concerning my family (I won't tell any further) I'll be absent for at least this race and maybe even the other races on Wednesdays (F5000 and CIS 90), so for at least today, the #9 car is free to drive. Sorry for that, it's really sad that this is the way I start the racing season I've been waiting for since I signed up for HSO. | |

| There is no mechanism to ban qualy engines in the race, but my race shows what happens if you do not. I am an idiot on wheels. I was so busy making sure everyone was ok for the start, that I forgot to switch to race boost. So I was doomed from the start. I did my best to stay out of the way until my engine blew. Let this be an object lesson for everyone else. Also, we will be having a chat with select people about behavior under yellows... | |

| Once the race got going and people weren't busy crashing or going to town on their keyboards it was a lot of fun. It's a real shame to lose the engine 15 laps from the finish after running the entire race in top 5 | |

| All of us we know rfactor is not perfect in yellow caution with pacecar, so we have to stay calm and be careful during the first laps. In my case, I blow up my engine reducing from 2nd to 1st gear while yellow. | |
