World Cup 2014 Brasil

This really needed a topic.

Only 2nd day of the world cup and already a massive suprise with Spain 1-5 Holland.

Let's hope for some more nice matches upcoming weeks  

Netherlands showed that when you have a team of footballers instead of a team of butchers, it helps to win games. Although with that good start, I wouldn't be surprised if they are eliminated early, much like Argentina usually does.

Three games, and so far, terrible referees in all of them. French referees could almost look good compared to them, and they are really bad.

And apparently, the tv crew loves the new goal technology thing, as they need to confirm on every goal that the ball indeed crossed the line, in case we are in doubt

Algeria  ,Iran.  Columbia and Belgium. What are my chances of winning

..................  Ive never understood how hockey scores are higher than soccer and the goalie in hockey covers the whole goal, and the goal in soccer is 50 feet wide.

I found that funny too to have the confirmation for the crossed line. But nothing about offside technology thing.  

I'd be surprised if they do something about the offsides or anything. The current system guarantees that a game can be manipulated in favor of whoever pays the most for it, or for the hosting country.

I hope neither Argentina or Brazil win the cup. It will be used just to hide real problems.

Argentina won't go too far. They have some great players, but not a great team (just like France had great players for the past years, but a terrible - yet funny to watch - team). Their only hope is either luck (1st goal), or Messi waking up once in 90 minutes (2nd goal).
I sort of predicted earlier in this thread that Argentina wouldn't go too far, and after this first game, I think it'll happen.

But I think Brazil will win it, with some external help (just like vs Croatia) or not, exactly for the reason you mentioned.

On the current game, no surprises : Germany winning, Pepe being sent off for being an idiot.

Holland can never win from portugal and portugal always loses from germany....funny football logic

It's really nice to win (or buy, it's the same result) a cup at home. I lived that in 98.

I know, but I have been in Brazil last year, and most of the guys were in disagree about the world cup and the amazing amount of money spent while they have other needs. Its the same here.

yea more like kickboxing! Reffering to the 2nd round match at world cup 2006: Both teams ended up with 2 red cards but portugal had more yellow ones!
