Mine too, but I got used to it - I use the rear view button if I really need to get a clear picture of what's going on behind me

Look in your .plr file, you should find these lines :
Self In TV Rearview="0" // add values for any that should be visible (0=none): 1=rear wing & wheels, 2=body & susp, 4=cockpit, 8=steering wheel (15=all)
Self In Cockpit Rearview="0" // add values for any that should be visible (0=none): 1=rear wing & wheels, 2=body & susp, 4=cockpit, 8=steering wheel (15=all)
Maybe your values are not to 0.

a ) I am getting use to it, and there is a gap I can see cars directly and close behind.

b ) When neccessary, I can change to cockpit view where the center virtual mirror is clear.

What causes me most anxiety is when being lapped by someone much faster. So far I have dealt with it though I did have close call with Tiago last race, but that was more due to me being too slow....

c ) I use "rear view button" as well.

d ) my plr is exactly as you quoted Ben.

I could try "removing" wing by backing into something?
