It was the 1979 Italian Formula 3, the Beta Tools March was the 793 of Ghinzani. As for the current picture, this time (I think) it's the 1976 Formula 2 and as the banner on the grandstand has French on it, and it is definitely not Pau and looks nothing like Nogaro, it must be Rouen cheers

I don't believe Formula 2 (although technically they did under the name 'F3000') have ever competed in Le Mans, and I don't think Formula 3 have either.

Actually, it might well be Formula Renault, there are a lot of 'Elf' logos :D I wasn't actually aware of a pre-1990 Formula Renault. I don't see the Toj of Keijo Rosberg either, which would have stood out quite easily (the chassis is slightly like the Ferrari 312T2 with a gold livery sponsored by Warsteiner), but I do see the Elf-Jabouille of Jabouille, the yellow car on the inside, and the blue Elf on the inside is the Renault of Tambay or Arnoux, so I'm not sure Razz
