XP.

I tried the Paris track, just to be sure if it was a track related problem or not. Well, I had a similar CTD, therefore at least I know it's not the Le Mans track at fault.

Tiago is in this last stint of the race.

We're now in 5th battling with the Locomotion R4R Sauber #4. We've lost 2nd gear, but even so, we haven't lost that much pace, thanks to the Sauber's huge torque

I guess our strategy of not using too much the gearbox is paying off. Finger's crossed! :drink: :drink: :drink:

I've very sorry for your retirement. Shocked Shocked Shocked

As for our car, we finished in 5th, with all the problems we had because of my PC.

Now, when is the next race? :hihi: :hihi: :hihi:

copy of my post on the VTE forum :

It was my first race with an international team and I really liked this feeling. Team Orion had trust me and put me in car #11, along with Szabi Balog, Frosty St Clair and Aleski Elomaa. I was about 2-3s a lap slower that these guys, but they never put the pressure on me because they knew I'd bring the car home after my stints in the same state it had been given to me. And so I did. After my early race in # 13 wich I told at the beginning of this topic, I tookover #11 from Frosty at the begenning of the night. Had a hard time because Damian was obviously driving #91, and catching ver quickly. Still, I managed to keep the lead, and we were confident since we knew that the other drivers on the #91 were slower than Damian. I did another stint 2 hours later or so, in the dark night. Once again, it was #91 closing badly on me, and I even did two mistakes : I spun entering the first chicane trying to avoid #6 AC Slater, and I out breaked myself at mulsanne trying to overtake R4R's Jag. Though, I'm proud to say that I never hit any other car nor a wall or tyre barrier during the 7hrs (or so) that I drove. I took the wheel back after a guest-stint by Peter Read from Oz who relieved an exhausted Szabi and did very well indeed, and two monster stints by Frosty, and I just had to cruise with a smaller tape setting to save the engine, trouble free morning stint, and, as the #91 had now retired, we were now in the lead by a 5-lap margin to #96.

It all went very well for us until the engine suddenly blew in the very last lap! I was on the server using the retired-#12 car, when I saw that, and Peter in #13 was trying his best to push the wounded #11 down the Hunaudières straight, but it wouldn't work. Everything was pretty hasty on ventrilo, but no panic, and we deciced to eventually call a tow truck.

Well in the end, after this little controversy, we're declared winners, and I'm proud of this accomplishment! I wouldn't have minded to see #96 declared winner, but I would have felt like we were the moral winners anyway (though I wouldn't have written it on my CV, whereas now I can ). I'm glad to be on the podium for the second time in a row in this great classic (I was 2nd last year with JPS France), but the victory feels even better !!

Winning car line-up : Szabolgs Balog (HUN) - Aleski Elomaa (FIN) - Frosty St Clair (USA) - Antoine de Mautor (FRA) - Peter Read (AUS)

Grats to FSB who were very serious challengers all race long, lots of cars, and lots of pace, great stuff guys! Grats to the #12 Orion Crew, Chris Sommerfield, Doug Forgue, Richard Crozier, you guys didn't lose faith after the #12 blew up, and taking back our #13 back-up car to the end sure was a hell of a performance !

Grats to R4R on yet another awesome Mazda drive, too bad you had these engine problems. BTW, when do you guys switch to a grown-up car? Would make the challenge even more interesting

Grats to Daron Hume and AC Slater for placing a new car so high on the starting grid, and to World-Racing.info on a good improvment. Grats to CTR of course, first time on the podium for our Brazilian friends, cool stuff ! Team 36 was running well all day and they deserve a round of applause as well, they could have made it to a podium finish.

Of course my favourite, HSO Portugal !! Congrats guys, 5th despite the computer problems you had, it's really impressive! Go for the podium next year my friends !

Last but not least, Andre in the Alaster Mazda literally did a MONSTER job, I still can't believe you made it to the end on your own, plus you were one of the safest opponent I saw on the track! Well done and see you in the HSO championship after the break

Finally, thanks again to Orion for hiring me and trusting me to drive their #1 car, we made it guys! And of course to VTE on keeping alive one hell of an event, you guys rock!!

Cya guys at Sebring for the 12hrs, and in the HSO championship for those who want MORE GTP ACTION!!!
