Frank and Antoine are just against anything converted from GPL. :D
I personnaly don't mind, but having tested GPL 1967 and 1969 conversions, yes they are bad imo. :smil20: A 1966 conversion could only have been better than the original mod though Razz

Pretty sure you havent even tried it, it's the most recent one, with revised collision box, new physics base (impressive shit) and 21 different cars.

I think it's really gross to even try to convert a GPL mod to another platform. What is it apart from an attempt to kill a sim that is, in my opinion, still the best? What's the point?

I only have 4 drivers registered so far in my GPL series starting in September. If it were on rfactor, I would have 30+. Mind you, the LM70 mod for rFactor is a complete disgrace : physics are completely off, 3D is bollocks, fuel and tyres are bullshit, you name it, its all shit. See the problem? I'm not saying that the GPL (Sportscar 67) mod is perfect, it isnt, but it is soooo much better on every aspect that I think it is a real pity that people are just turning their backs to this sim.
So if some cunts just convert, this 66 F1 mod, and then the SC 67 mod (why not), and eventually the original game, people will be like "yeah that's great" but what's really gonna happen it that they'll miss out on what is still the best sim out there, and drive a shit rfactor mod (one more). And thats fucked up if you ask me.

Yeah I'm fucking upset lol :papy:

Hehe, maybe right.

I dont like about the mods how much they missimulate some few features.
GPL is great in many things but i dunno if it also has its flaws.
maybe at the limite its much more accurate, except taht the grip is (i guess) not simulated on each tire. but u only feel that rank -75 or better

a hybrid solution we need

I did when it was released, and didn't like it, cars behave like understeering pigs and couldn't feel the car when it was starting to slide, unlike in the original physics. And isn't it in this mod where you can slipstream a car that's 500m ahead of you ? Razz

Some mods really have no clue where you can slipstream everything. in GPL 1.2.01 (or all GPLs) 67 cars ahve a slipstream of 33,3 metres whatever speed you do. at 26metres it increases at 15m level 3 slipstream and at 8metres you really pull on.

reality should show a slipstream of level two till 1sec and level 1 till 1,8 secs.

anyways: i dont like the tire grip model of rfactor. grip dependant on slip angle is a bit weird, influence on tire load is too less (cornering, bumps) and heat /temporary patch(=surface) heat is not proper. but i saw for tools to change it ,still they dont offer enough paramaters.

any fast guys here who like to make the physics right?

If this is about F1 1966 V0.8: The models look sublime and shiny...even better then 1965 mod I would say. Physics are ok I think..you can slide with these! The mod contains a nice variety of cars because 1966 was the first 3.0 litre season after 5 seasons of the 1.5 litre rule. I even think some of them look hot sexy!  lol!

Download and try it..I'll test some more 2morrow Smile
