What a race Very Happy

Qualified in 3rd position (but in fact 4th cause I was on the left side and first turn is a right one lol)

Romain overtake me at the start and take a little advantage for 2 laps. After that I became closer and a battle started, with help of the battle between the two 1st guys, I finally found my way and pass him.

After a couple of lap, Guillaume come at me and I let him pass, he was way faster than I.
During the main part of the race, I was focussing to save my tire and it works fine, working so well that I can overtake Guillaume who was in trouble with lapped car and finally I can keep my 2nd place to the end ! :second:

Thanks to everybody !
Such a great race again ! :cowboy2:

Knees are shaking, my mouth was dry, what's the matter :D ? Yes, just near the machine opponent and I the way I'm afraid  ! Both can not continue :hum: ! Therefore, I urge is not a very skilled pilots, like me, for joint training! I think we can help each other get the speed and stability. As well as self-confidence! i thought i wouldnt be able to race so i didnt even trained on this track. But finally, i was there 5mn before the start so i had to discover the track Wink thx to ben for his setup. It was the most horrible race of my life, i was so slow that i spent the whole race getting lapped. Who didnt lapped me ? Hope i didnt cause any problem. Anyway, as hard as it was with the commodore, i said to myself, finish the race dont even look at your time, gap ... and i did it with a 6 laps gap ...

those cars are not for me and next season, i'll stick to my m3 (i was 2 sec faster with the m3 on this track !!!)

Cheers Guillaume, I didn't even have my usual banging with Antoine, he went through very well (Good that his car is black, so I can recognize him easily and stop looking in the mirrors -works brilliantly :D ). Probably the main reason is that the powerful cars were actually slower in the twisted sections of the track so it was easy for us with M3, 190s, etc to keep going fast without slowing them down and then let them through in a quick section.

Oh sorry Jon somehow I thought I had seen your name somewhere in the grid and you were there Embarassed

We all started like that Vadim, and for some of us it still continues to be so :hihi: What hour is good for you? I will gladly train with you :top:

You have the speed, your qualifying times are very good already in your first month of online racing! You just need to get used to the traffic. Smile

Nice race for me, I had a decent qualy (6th) and a great start which allowed me to go past Yves Smile Newcomer Ben tried to overtake me on the outside in turn 3-4, nice two-wide, but it was not to be :antoine:

Then the 4 in front were opening up a steady gap, while me and Ben were doing the same with our followers. :conduit: Steady fast pace, unfortunately on the 13th lap or so I downshifted to 1st gear instead of 3rd in the left hander, and spun Crying or Very sad

From then on I was not as fast and made a lot of small stupid mistake. I was battling with Yves and Jean-Louis' Sierras :yaa: and in the end had to defend my 7th place like a madman against Jukka because my car's cooked tyres wouldn't allow me to steer in the corners :conduit: however the power was still there.

Tu as été déco Franky?

What a close race this was! I lost some time in numerous small incidents, including avoiding a spun JL and slightly brushing the wall which sent me spinning down the main straight :conduit: JP rear-ended me once, it really wasn't necessary to stop and wait for me as it was a racing incident at least half my fault, I believe Razz

Me and Antoine ran the final laps almost nose to tail. I could see him struggle through the corners but had no way to get close to attack as he still was so quick on a straight line.

My back started to hurt before mid-race as usual, and I was losing focus. I missed my breaking point and didn't manage to avoid you. From my point of view, you did nothing wrond. Sorry again :frank:

Miserable race for me although I started well. I reached 6th place from 14th on the grid, for about 10m and then started to go backwards. I wanted to do a spin escape, but didn't spin myself (only helped Jukka for this), so I finished... just outside the points on both classifications

The question of course is not quite in the topic! However, draws the attention of the freedom of choice of cameras on the server! I wonder who what kind of uses in the race? For example I recognize only the cockpit. As you!?!
Pardon my curiosity!

Good question Round 3 - Lakeside [February 22nd] - Page 4 420535

Cameras are free in the server, you can drive with whatever camera you want.

For me there is not one single answer. Generally, I use the cockpit view in Formula type cars (F5000, Champcar, etc) because I can see the wheels and the corner apex better. But on closed cars like the M3, prototypes, etc, I usually prefer the higher "TV Cockpit", though it sometimes depends on the track.

Haha well I'm a motorbike rider and use a lot the peripheral vision for survival reasons, so for me racing in a "box" is kind of unnatural. I suppose that if I setup a 3 screens rig then I would only use cockpit ...

BTW Vadim another good trick I found out when learning a track is to use the bird eye view (High from above) for track reconnaisence. It is very helpful to park your car respectively at the entry, apex and exit points -which you clearly see from above-, and then switch to the cockpit view to see how they look from there, as well as to pick your reference point. On GPL I always used the cockpit view, but in rFactor I never use it. Firstly because I never got used to most cockpits in rFactor, I find them ugly and non-immersive and I'm lost without moving arms as we have in GPL ^^ . Also the default cockpit view is always seated too low, so you have to tweak it up, and you end up like if your driver was sitting on two phone books in his car which is the real heresy :D ! And finally I must I confess that being a single-seater born driver I can't drive if I'm not seated in the center of the car Embarassed :aie: . So I always use the TV Cockpit view I think it's called, the one with the camera behind the driver's helmet.
