Not much to say about my race, except about the first eight laps. Firstly I was a little bit surprise with my second place on the starting grid, I didn't expect better than a 5th or 6th place. I totally missed my start, Lorenzo and Gui passed me, I was fourth until Gui made a double mistake near the last corner.
Then I focused to follow Greg and Lorenzo, I was not to confident so I didn't push to hard, leaving a 2 sec gap with them.

After the incident already described by Lorenzo and Greg, I managed to bring the M18 at home, crossing the race with some lappers with whom I had no problem.

Thanks all for coming, grats to all finishers, and see you in Edmonton!

Yes Jason don't worry, that's how the F5000 learning curve is scaled:

First you learn how not to crash in the 5 first laps, only to have to learn how not to blow your engine in the following 5, then last after surviving both things and already from lap 10 onwards you need learn how to survive the hordes of aliens that will be coming at insane speeds from behind, always ready to ram you from all possible angles. It's a good school if you are going to serve your country in Irak or Afganistan in the next year, though

American troops have now all been retired from these two countries mate ^^

When you overrev the engine too often, it doesn't necessarily make it to heat a lot, it just stresses the engine and decreases its lifetime. When the lifetimes reaches zero, it just let go with no warning (well mine smoked before dying but it was already too late anyway).

Epic race for me! One the best I ever had in 5 years of simracing probably...

It all started with an average qualy, enough to give me 9th. On to the race because it was much more interesting

Had a good start, clean for all, very nice. Then had my seldom happening freeze, whoch lasted 2 seconds and lost me 2 places. D'ailleurs désolé pour Philippe je te réapparait sous le nez de manière totalement inopiné mais je n'ai rien pus faire d'autre, belle frayeur pour nous deux

Then had a first good fight reeling on Steve until he blew his engine. From then on, I focused on the two drivers in front, Frank and Vincent, but they were consistent and I couldnt close the gap. I had forgotten that meanwhile, some fast drivers were still charging behind!! Tiago caught me with his mighty TS11 I had a recovering Frank now in my sight

This produced an absolutely frantic battle, I was on the edge on every corner I was going defensive in the last corner, until I outbraked myself with 3 to go, allowing Tiago to outpower me on the pit straight Then Frank slided and I had a short glimpse at a podium finish, but couldn''t overtake Tiago and things stayed as they were.

This marked I hope the start of a very promising season, and I apparently have a very fast team mate at Matich (bien joué Vincent), so the fight is on!!!
