This summer, the American F5000 series was scheduled but considering the small grids in the European championship, it's probably better to have a break with these cars before the series restarts in September.
So like last year there will be only "open" races, but this time, its up to you to decide what mod and track you want to race ! Most of the time we the HSO admins only chosed mods we like, and so never let you race on mods and tracks YOU like. And this summer, almost none of the admins will be racing, Antoine and Frank are having a break with simracing in summer, Martin could be racing if he likes the mods/tracks combinations, while I won't be home for the next 4 months, without my G25 so that makes the choice easier for me ^^.
So go ahead, make your day Of course we won't accept everything, the suggested races will have to be real combinations of cars and tracks (concessions can be made to a certain degree of course). Meanwhile, do not suggest endurance races with driver swaps as those races demand lots of preparation and advertising on other forum to be a success.
==============

I have always been a big fan of the CART series, and actually what brought me to simracing forums long ago, when I first met the BITDT team, was the CCC mod for F1 Challenge - I even painted two carsets for it, 98 and 99!
So i would like to see again some open event with CARTFACTOR, even if I don't know if I will be competitive with those beasts anymore (I was reasonably a midfield guy many years ago).
And, for a change, I'd like it to be oval racing in a BIG oval, with insane speeds, which I also happen to like a lot -even if it is not usual here-
So my suggestion for an open event in July (In August I have many difficulties attending) would be:
-CARTFACTOR (CART 1998 series) -US 500 (Michigan) or California

Well, then any other CART98 track where overtaking is possible, a nice and wide one , but better one that has not been already in opens of previous years.
What about one of the most peculiar tracks in the world, with enough space to overtake and with a great rFactor verions? I'm talking about Cleveland, Burke Lakefront Airport

Well if you'd ask me, I'd race with CART Factor on any track But Cleveland is really, really special, completly flat and empty, without any objects around the track to help you learning it. I think most drivers would hate it.

CART 1998 road courses : Long Beach, Detroit, Portland, Cleveland, Toronto, Mid Ohio, Elkhart Lake, Vancouver, Laguna Seca, Houston, Surfers Paradise.
All of those tracks are available, some in crap quality, but some are good.

I was trying to find a track that has not been in an open yet and has a nice version for rFactor. Portland would be another candidate, but it might be a bit short and narrow for CART, same as Laguna Seca -great track, but too small for good racing with Indycars.
I think that Road America, Mid-Ohio or Portland would all be good places to drive
And, I also vote for DRM at Hockenheim or any other track of the series

DRM as well, Hockenheim or Nordschleife or Deipholtz or somewhere lol.
However anything to do with rallying is cool with me as well, not sure what fits though.....

I did some laps yesterday with the CARTFACTOR mod, and I seem to have completely lost my mojo with open wheels
For me DRM would be good, CART sadly too difficult right now.

Micka, remember that we only do historically accurate races here So if we race by night on Le Mans, it would only be a 24hrs race. That might well happen some day though :raclure:
