For me, the golden age of CART was between 1989 and 1993. Amazing racing and lots of great names. Thanks to Tony George, we're now stuck with a spec series that is hell bent on being an open wheel version of NASCAR.

I liked the late 90's seasons as well, different chassis builders, engines, tires, young guns racing against famous old names...
Indycar is not a spec series anymore this year (3 different engines, Honda, Chevy (Ilmor) and Lotus (Judd)), but the new car looks like crap.

Still a spec series with regard to the chassis, though. Wish we still had Penske building his own cars and names like Lola, March, Reynard, etc.

This year's Rolex 24 at Daytona was absolutely amazing, 6 seconds between the two leaders at the end of the race
This is what happened after 21h of racing:
Allan McNish vs Oswaldo Negri Jr, they are 4 wide
Allan McNish vs AJ Allmendinger, banging wheels on the oval
One of the craziest 24h race i have ever seen
