| 1970 SCCA National Championship This series will be run on the Historic GT and Touring cars 1.01 mod for rFactor. You will need the mod and its 1.01 patch. You will also need the GT Legends game CD or DVD to able to install the mod. HistoryOur 2011 HGTTC championship will be based along the lines of the 1970 SCCA National Championship in the USA. The SCCA (Sports Car Club of America) who was orginally an amateur club, evolved during the 1960s towards pro racing and by 1970 it was running three of America’s biggest series : the Can-Am for unlimited Group 7 Sportscars, the Continental Championship for Formula A/5000 single-seaters and the Trans-Am Championship for Touring Cars. Next to these high-profile series, the SCCA National Championship, which formed the backbone of the SCCA calendar since the early 1950s, was left to amateur teams and drivers. A gigantic nationwide affair, it involved hundreds of races all over the country, with regional championships deciding the qualifiers for the end of the year American Road Race of Champions (ARRC) in Road Atlanta. The ARRC gathered all the best drivers of each SCCA region, and each of the numerous classes had a race to decide its National Champion. RulesOur 2011 recreation of this mammoth championship will be more modest in size but will nevertheless include more than 20 of the mod’s cars (split in 4 classes) to be raced in no less than 80 races spread over 40 race days on 27 different tracks. This regular season will begin January 10th and will end on December 5th, with no races during the summer break. Races will be held on Monday nights, on a weekly basis. Each Monday of racing will see two 20-minutes timed races. Each race will be reserved to 1 of the 4 classes of cars. Of the two classes run each Monday night, the bigger one will always be run first (i.e. AP before BP, BP before DP, ...etc.). One of the big differences with our other championships is that you do not need to book a car for the year. Each driver is free to come to a race with the car of his choice, provided of course it is part of the class admitted for this race. Points will be awarded to the top 10 finishers on the following scale : 15-12-10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1. All starters will be classified according to their number of laps completed and are elligible for championship points, whether they finished the race or not. Each of the 4 classes will have 20 races to the schedule of its championship. However, only the 12 best results of a driver in a class will be retained towards the championship. After the last race of the regular season, the 25 best drivers in each of the four championships will be invited to the ARRC in Road Atlanta, where the four National champions will be decided in four separate 30-minutes races. These four races will be strictly reserved to the top 25 finishers of each championship class - no substitutes for the eventual absents will be admitted. Race Day Schedule Races will be held on Monday nights, (all times CET, Paris time). 8:00pm : Free Practice, 45 minutes, open to both classes. 8:45pm : Qualifying for Race 1, 15 minutes. 9:00pm : Race 1, 20 minutes. 9:35pm : Qualifying for Race 2, 25 minutes. 9:55pm : Race 2, 20 minutes. Server Password : hso70. Training Server A training server running on the next scheduled track will be online permanently. Password : hso70Application and Interpretation of the Regulations The admins alone are qualified to solve any problems raised by the application and the interpretation of the present regulations. | |

| Just a curiosity of mine: the real SCCA 1970 National Championship was run in 2 races of 20 minutes featuring 2 classes too? | |

Not exactly. SCCA races usually were timed races, but each meeting of course had many more than 2 classes running. To make a long story short, a typical SCCA National meeting would see around 20 different classes competing, from 500cc production cars to CanAm-like unlimited sportscars, and including single-seaters like Formula A (=F5000), Formula B (1600cc F2-like) and Formula C (equivalent of our F3s). Some classes would run together, others on their own. It really was a gigantic affair with hundreds of races all over the year. So I guess one could say our series is just a recreation of a portion of the real SCCA NC, but that's all we could humanly do . A real SCCA NC simracing league would take three HSOs to be complete !

| Wow,it was really a huge competition then! even if the HSO recreation of this series its not in the same size, still is a very big and challenging format, and a great choice for sure. Thanks for the explanation Frank! | |

Don't worry. I understand you must choice the better day for all drivers and admins, and friday is not a good day for online sim sessions. In fact, I was surprised the originally chosen day was Friday. I will wait the announcement of the rest of champs to organize my personal Schedule. Thanks.

| Pour le mod, il s'agit d'HGT que tu as surement déjà installé sur ta bécane. Et en ce qui concerne le premier circuit, tu l'as certainement aussi, puisqu'on l'a fait 3 fois en IMSA. | |
