Ok, c'est en ordre pour les DTM aussi messieurs les administrateurs. Je m'engage sur Ford Sierra N° 5. Ben c'est fou, chez HSO à 53 ans on progresse encore en simu, l'année passée, j'aurais déjà bien voulu avoir une Sierra mais je ne pouvais pas bien la conduire à cause de la conduite à droite et la tenue de route, j'ai donc pris une BMW M3. Mais c'est nickel maintenant, je tiens le cap avec la Sierra. Ouf, l'était temps que ça rentre dans l'ordre avec mon ordinateur, ça commence à être full ici.

Lol Franky, I can pledge that as long as I can simrace, I'll be doing my competitive historic league racing with HSO, this is my home now lol. i just don't know what the summer and september have planned because its far ahead and has been hectic for me almost every year lol. if you remember when first arrived it was after a move from LA to Warsaw and didn't have a PC or wheel for months! anyways, i might miss races is all, but im not leaving this place!

Quick question;

In 1988, what was the difference between Team Linder and Team Zakspeed, in terms of support. The cars look very similar, were they both equally factory backed, or one better equipped than the other? Just to solve curiosity. Team Linder seemed to have the better driver lineup with Quester and Heger, but Markus Oestrich was I believe the highest placed BMW driver in that years championship. Or were ALL the BMW's fairly equal and only Linder and Zakspeed ran the BMW colours?

I don't have the stuff I used to prepare the DTM champ handy, but IIRC Zakspeed, Isert and Linder were all three works backed for the 1988 DTM, while Schnitzer and Bigazzi took care of the ETCC. This was more an esthetics thing, as other well known BMW tuners like Alpina were treated with the same care by BMW Motorsport although they did not ran in full BMW Motorsport colours. So in performance all the top BMW drivers were equal, but the big difference between the teams came from the tyres : Zakspeed, Isert or MK ran on Pirelli, Linder on Dunlop, Valier on Michelin, ...etc. As in Group C, there was a big tyre war in Group A, both on road racing and rallying. Also BMW almost never had a pukka in-house racing team and usually let its best tuners and teams do the racing. Still, most of the top BMW drivers were contracted by BMW which usually had more than its word to say each year as for which driver went to which team and which (works backed) team did which championship.

Having said that, the mod does not reflect this and, unless I am very much mistaken, the DTM cars all share the same tyres phyiscs and older private cars are as efficient as the factory ones.
